UPDATED!

You Can NOW WATCH THE TRAILER FOR HULK VS. WOLVERINE BY CLICKING RIGHT HERE!

Marvel Animation has put out some really cool and amazing quality DVD Animated Films the last couple of years. We have the 2 Avenger Movies, which were ok, but the best animated films they put out so far have been ‘The Invincible Iron Man’ and ‘Dr. Strange’. Dr. Strange was some of the best 2D animation that has been released in a long time, and the story is solid. If you have not seen it you need to pick it up and watch it.

So now its been said that the Marvel Animation Team behind those are making a HULK double feature. One will be ‘Hulk Vs. Wolverine’ and the other ‘Hulk Vs. Thor’. I don’t know about you but I have been waiting to see these brought to life for a long time. Here is a stoy synopsis from each one pulled from Toonzone.net:

Hulk Vs. Wolverine
ALBERTA, Canada. The smoldering wreckage of a town-the latest casualty of a rampage by the monster known as The Incredible Hulk. Over the past week, Hulk has been tearing a line across the Canadian wilderness, leaving a swathe of destruction in his wake. He has to be stopped, and there’s only one man up to the job. He’s Wolverine, and he’s been put on Hulk’s trail with a single objective: stop the green goliath…at all costs. Hulk and Wolverine are about to enter the fiercest battle of their lives.

Hulk Vs. Thor
ASGARD, realm of the gods. For ages, Loki the trickster has sought a way to bring defeat to his accursed stepbrother, Thor. But for all the battles Thor has fought, in all the nine realms, only one creature has ever been able to match his strength-a mortal beast of Midgard known as The Incredible Hulk. Now, with Odin the almighty king of the gods deep in a regenerative sleep, and the forces protecting Asgard at their weakest, Loki is finally ready to spring his trap. In an epic battle that will pit gods against monsters, only The Mighty Thor can hope to prevail. But to do so he must survive a perilous quest that will take him into the very depths of the underworld itself

Unlike the recent animated X-Men TV shows and the X-Men Movies, these animated features promise to deliver! From what I hear. The Hulk will cause massive violence and Carnage! They won’t pull any punches on these films. Rumor has it they are going to stay very true to the comics. These are for the fans. Frank Paur who directed both ‘The Invincible Iron’ and ‘Dr. Strange’ is helming the project. His directing credits also include top animated shows such as Batman, Disney’s Gargoyles, and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn HBO series. Craig Kyle has been Executive Producer on all Marvels recent animated projects. They have delivered so far, I can only imagine it is going to get much better with this next release, which will most likely be early next year.

Hulk vs Wolverine is a classic for any comic book geek. But Hulk vs Thor now thats a new wrinkle to me. I’m excited since it’s the same team that did my favorite of the marvel animated movies, and they keep getting better. I hope they do Silver Surfer or maybe Wolverine & Captain America vs Nazi Super Soldiers.

  2. Hishgraphics on May 16th, 08

Hulk vs Thor sounds vaguely familiar.

  3. Anonymous on May 16th, 08

Hmmm, guess we don’t need to expect any plot or storyline huh?

Fighting scenes get old after a half hour….

  4. Bobby on May 16th, 08

Hey Anonymous, Its the same team that put the other Marvel animated shows together and they had strong storys. I’m sure they’re not going to stop telling good stories now. The director has proved they know what they are doing. You can still make an awesome action adventure fighting movie and still have a good story to tell. They will pull off a great well rounded movie.

  5. Stan on May 17th, 08

Hulk Vs. Thor happened in a movie when I was young. (yes there were movies then).

Hulk Vs. Wolverine, is how Wolverine was introduced, with Windego as well. Then they did the ultimate hulk vs wolverine…..only to never finish the book, it’s an open ended comic and only made it to two of four.

  6. GoldenAvenger on May 20th, 08

Hulk vs Thor happened in Journey Into Mystery #112 back in 1965. The battle was inconclusive. They had other encounters in the early years of the Avengers (of which both were founding members), but not a big one-on-one slugfest. They also met in the Hulk TV series (not a movie) in the ’70s – very cheesy, and available on DVD.

  7. Larzzzz on May 20th, 08

Any Thor vs. Hulk has got to be better than the infamous 2nd made for TV movie Hulk Movie where the Hulk dies by falling from a helicopter, and not at the hands of the pooly acted Thor.

  8. Shelle on June 15th, 08

    SQUEE! thats all. SQUEE!

I love me some violence and the animated kind is just as good. Plus.. hello? Wolverine and Hulk going at it? SQUEE!

  9. Gman on June 20th, 08

How can they make an animated movie about Hulk vs Wolverine when the comic was never finished? Granted, 5 of the 6 issues have been written, but Leinil Yu is “too” busy with Secret Invasion to be bothered drawing for the last three issues 4, 5, and 6. It was dropped May 17, 2006 with no regards to the readers who bought into this storyline. I guess they can always make something up and turn out a crappy storyline. It’s a shame.

Thor would against hulk and hulk would win against Wolverine

  11. John on July 5th, 08

There have been quite a few issues over the years that have pitted the Hulk against Thor, e.g.,(The Avengers #5, March ‘97) and Wolverine
(Incredible Hulk #340, February ‘87). The all-out battle issue with limited dialogue battle between Hulk (aka “Maestro”) and Thor was in Incredible Hulk #440, April ‘96, featuring the two in a slugfest in the Arctic.

The film version of a meeting between the Hulk and Thor was featured in the television series “The Incredible Hulk” entitled “The Incredible Hulk Returns.”

The comic book battles between these characters have been quite epic and Marvel will be hard-pressed to capture the ferocity and essence of those battles, be it live-action or in animated form, but I believe that it can be done if done correctly. The DC animated movie “Superman vs. Doomsday” is testimony to that.

The pessimism of some of you so-called fans never ceases to amaze me. Marvel has been on point with everyone of their animated projects (I was hesitate about the New Avengers but from everything I’m seeing I’m sure it’s going to be excellent too).

As for the Hulk verus series WOW! Somebody has been listening to my prayers. Thor is my favorite Marvel character. Right after seeing Iron Man, which blew me and everybody else it seems away) they announce a Thor movie with more Avenger related movies for the big screen. Now they come up with this to tide us over. God bless Marvel!

Marvel may have been on the verge of bankruptcy to start the millenium but their emphasis on animated and big screen movies is the answer to every true Marvel fans prayers. You haters need to quit with it and recognize that now that Marvel is doing their own thing, they will deliver on what made us all fall in love with them in the first place. Now they can make everybody else get it too. . . even if a few jerk offs can’t get over themselves. IN STAN WE TRUST!

id like to see the hulk and the thing battle it out. like when the thing got hit with more cosmic rays and became more of a rocky beast hunting to settle an old score with the hulk.

  16. JodyGrossy on January 13th, 09

All this about the Hulk is beginning to grate. He is not the end all to everything!

    Thankfully, some agree:

If you are a Thor fan you will be disappointed with this dvd. Thor lost, TWICE. First, time they fought, the Hulk left Thor for dead. The second time, Thor “rallied back” with Loki, but they still could not defeat the Hulk, and had to be rescued by the Enchantress. I am not kidding. That is what happened. Check it at torrent. It’s very biased. If you are a Hulk fan, you will like it, tremendously. If you are a Thor fan, this will leave you sick to your stomach. The Asgardians fell too easily, and they actually “fear” the Hulk (check Craig Kyle’s interview at youtube). Uhhhh, Asgardians do not fear anything except Ragnarok.

  18. anomoymous on January 25th, 09

The hulk is the best of the best and my favorite. No one can beat him.

  19. pablo on January 30th, 09

    hulk is the best

  20. starchief on February 7th, 09

Who’s stronger: Hulk or Thor? One of comics great questions. It’s always a fight to a standstill or win by default due to Odin, Bruce Banner or some other weird (im)possibility. Not any more! The whole history of Marveldom is brushed aside when Hulk whips Thor good’n'hard. Even beats Loki and Thor together…which is just cr*p. On this evidence, Thor would be hard-pressed to beat Yellowjacket! Very disappointing that reeks of the writer being asked to do a Hulk script. “Hmmm, well, Hulk’s the star, so he must be strongest”. Nooooooooooo, the whole wonder is the reader/viewer shouts for his favourite but no-one really knows who’s strongest. Asgard was beautiful but this is for action cartoon fans, not for die-hard Marvel-ites.

Thor is so much more than he used to be. He can beat the Hulk in any number of ways. First he can transport him to another dimension if he so chooses. He can utilize the odin power and virtually do anything he wants against a fearsome force no doubt but a force with little if any brain power. The whole concept of a thor versus Hulk scenario being even remotely valid is to deny that Thor is an intelligent character capable of not just physical confrontation but out-thinking his opponent.

  23. Fella 76 on May 7th, 09

WHEN E THEY GOING TO DO A CABLE ANIMATD OR LIVE ACTIN MOVIE? His story is worth teling.

  24. Ginu on September 17th, 09

The Hulk is stronger than Thor, while Thor is more powerful. Physical strength superiority of the Hulk would put a one-on-one fist battle in Hulk's favour.
