Venkman here – I have heard about this project but had very little details on what it is about, but I came accross some information you may be interested it. The Movie is Called ‘Ninja Assassin’ and Stars Rain (Speed Racer and Korean Pop Star). The movie is being brought to you by Joel Silver and directing the movie is James McTeigue who also directed ‘V for Vendetta’. Here is what the movie is about:
NINJA ASSASSIN follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them… and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive…and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.
Sounds like a pretty cool martial arts ninja flick! I think the director has got what it takes, I loved ‘V for Vendetta’! The world needs more good martial arts films!
Rain is not a Martial Artist. I’m tired of fake moves being posed as anything even similar to Martial Arts. Bruce Lee also mentioned how he was “disgusted” at how the Martial Arts are depicted in movies,.. cheapening the full meaning of what true Martial Arts is all about.
As long as Rain is the lead Actor, the movie will suck. Get a Real Martial Artist, please ! Jet Li, or anyone with Real Martial Arts Skill. Why choose a gay looking singer dancer boy ?
but jet lee wont really pull out Ninja scenes, he’s good with some sort of chinese martial art, but not sure if he has basic for japanese martial art.
Rain on the other hand has the basic for three different martial art techniques, including how to use japanese tradional sword, he learnt them on his early age to avoid being beaten by punks on the street. and he really did fight the punk bare hand, had Jet Lee or Mr. Chan ever fight in a real battle instead on their movies?
dont just judge randomly just because he’s a pop star. he has a lot more to offer than what you thought.
what i don’t like is how good a movie will be based on whose going to be acting in it. the best way to judge a movie is by who the director/producer is. and judging that movie will be bad before seeing any clips or previews from it is just plant ignorant. please try keeping an open mind.

If you've seen Rain's movie and dramas in Korea, you'd know he is an excellent actor with lots of charisma, charm, humor and intensity. what I'm afraid of is he's too good of an actor to be typecast as a martial arts actor, though he's physically adept at martial arts movements. He has too much talent and his full acting talent needs to be utilized. he just needs to perfect his English better, but his English has improved so much. In korean language, he is so charming, amazing, and articulate. he is a truly multi talented entertainer and a born star. Don't be prejudice against him because he's a cut pop star. This ninja film will make him famous in America and Europe. the rest of the world is already crazy about him….MASK111
