Captain America cameo gets cut from ‘The Incredible Hulk’ movie!
We have been told that Captain America is going to show up in ‘The Incredible Hulk’ movie, but now we won’t get to see it in the theaters! It won’t be added in the film until it comes out on DVD! Why? This is a big screen moment one the audiences and fans will cheer for! Here is the explination from Louis Leterrier:
“There’s a point when Bruce Banner gives up on his quest for the cure and decide to kill himself. So he travels far North and reaches the Arctic Circle. You might have seen bits of it in some of the promos. The result was a very dark and strong scene, which Marvel, me and everyone else’s considered to be too hard to young audiences to take, so we’ve cut it. Having that said, when Bruce arrives at his destination he meets up with Captain America! At some point this week, we will make it available on the internet – but I cannot tell you where or when – and the material will definitely be on the DVD.”
First of all I hate that they cut that scene because it was too Hard for young audiences. Oh wait! You mean two giant monsters battling it out in the streets causing carnage, chaos, violence, and death, ripping each other aprat trying to kill one another isn’t hard for young audiences!? I don’t understand their thinking, the movie is supposed to be hard! Thats why its rated PG-13. Whatever, its a big mistake. Second, by cutting that scene they cut out the Captain America scene! What a terrible idea! At least show all this stuff after the credits role! Give us that! I hate where Marvels head is at these day. They need a time out, they need to sit in a corner facing the wall and think about all the wrong things they have done recently.

Here is a pic of the scene that has been cut.

Lighten up Francis.
I can’t believe they are even attempting this again after the first failure. I was on the fence about seeing this second potential failure and after reading this article, I think I just will pass on it.
I think the only way I’ll be seeing this is if I can bring in my stub from the first miserable attempt and get in for free…which they should be doing anyway!!!
OMG! These bastards had the gaul to EDIT a movie before it’s theatrical release?
We should boycott this film and all things MARVEL!
OMG… some douche on the internet thinks he is satiracally funny. We shoudl boycott his ignorant, raving arse and all things douche-y.
Captain America is lame anyway. I got no problem waiting for the DVD to see his cameo.
This arctic suicide attempt sounds cool though.
If Disney can hang a kid in the opening scene of the last Pirates movie, than I this should be a non issue.
I’d be more pissed about the rumors that Jon Favreau might not be directing Iron Man II. That’s more of the Marvel we comic book fans know and loathe. Guy hits it out of the park, and they boot him and go with someone else.
Your Right akfak_retlaw! Disney did hang a kid! I also agree with DarkFlounder and in fact we are more pissed off about Marvel dragging their feet in getting Favreau back. I have read in a couple of places that they made an offer to him yesterday. Not sure if it true or not though. Gotta wait and see.
I had a question for SwordBuddha… What comic books do you read while at your Communist meetings? I would think that if Hulk was to do the “Marvel Movie Universe” right, a nice appearance by Cap would have been a great way to solidify this new direction. However, would this have been an actual encounter with the avenger or would it have been a dude frozen in a block of ice and would the said appearance have been made by the actor who will portray Cap in the upcoming feature? I’m willing to say this now…if there is no Favreau for Iron Man 2 then they might as well put it straight to DVD because I won’t be seeing it in the theater.
Amen to that U.S. Agent. Anther thing I don’t understand is why did marvel and the director hype up Captain America being in the movie and then cut it. It makes no sense!?
I can see how people are upset about the scene being cut, and I can also see why people aren’t that upset. For those of you who don’t quite grasp it, I will elucidate. The scene in question will be available for public viewing the very hour that the movie comes out, because thats when the “tripwire” for hiding movie info is cut. so c’mon, be smart and don’t let this relatively small change affect you opinion of the whole. Its not like it was done with malicious intent in any case.
I totally undersand what your saying. I saw Hulk Last night and it was an amazing film! I’m not going to let something like this ruin the movie, I just wish we could have got to see it on the big screen. It would have been a great moment.
I don’t really understand how this would keep anyone from seeing the movie? There’s a chance that they just had to cut the film down for time reasons, that’s one of the scenes they axed, but the put a spin on it so as to piss off as few angry fans as possible. Given the amount of shit this film has been through, in regards to the Director and Norton, I feel lucky that this guy wasn’t shelved forever.
What is a Hulk?
I think there’s a difference between suicide a big dumb fight between CGI monsters.
You are all idiots. They edit movies all the time before they come out swordbuddha. It’s called directors cuts, look in too it. Unless your being sarcastic than i’m sorry for being Suzy Literal. That scene in question was not available the hour the movie came out. It was probably something edward norton wrote thats why it got cut cause they cut his name from the writing credits god knows why. But it really doesn’t make sense to hype up that captain america is in it when he is obviously not you piece of crap french director!!!
gives me a reason to rent the DVD
So in the preview, when Bruce is talking to a guy. He says i have a problem. Then the guy says i heard them all. Then Bruce says it’s a little more complicated than that. Is that guy Captain America? I waited through the credits hoping for something and got nothing. The movie was tight. It would’ve been cooler if they put in that scene. I saw the preview, then when i went to see the movie. Then after every scene i was waiting and thinking the Artic scene would be next. I hope they put it on the Internet really soon.
I don’t know if I’d all want to cry about it, but Marvel definitely short changed themselves some advertising budget. You know what the Nick Fury ending of Iron Man was worth in free advertising for the future Avengers movie? Neither do I, but I’d bet millions, like the equivalent of the buzz advertising for War Inc. Just…dumb. I agree with you that PG-13 is a wide enough rating to handle a contemplation of suicide.
Do you think they’ll make a Incredible Hulk sequel before they do the Avengers movie? Batman 3?
Do you think they’ll make a sequel to the Incredible Hulk before they make the Avengers? When is Batman 3 coming out?
The havent announced a Hulk sequel yet but the avengers has been announced. I’m not sure but I think if they do go forward with a sequel it will happen after the avengers movie. But you never know they may movie the hulk story forward in Captain America, Thor, or Iron Man 2. We’ll just have to wait and see.
