I Told You! Beverly Hills Cop 4 rated PG!!!

It’s Not OK! I knew this was going to happen! I just knew it! Damn you Brett Ratner! This is what he says on a MTV movie Blog:
“10-year-old kids, 12-year-old kids don’t really know the old ‘Beverly Hills Cop.’ So it’s an opportunity to make it new for kids,” Ratner said. “The same way it felt for me watching ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ when I was a kid, that’s what I want to do for kids today.”
What is this crap! I am Speechless. What do you want me to say!? Ratner says it all. He is such a Hollywood whore.
Edgar ‘El Toro’ Arce over at Latino review says it best:
Which would you go see?
Beverly Hills Cop 4: Rated R
Or Beverly Hills Cop 4: Rated PG for Pure Garbage?
Is Eddie on board with the idea? He must be, the guy has only done PG movies the last few years. It can’t be true. While they are at it throw the Beverly Hills Chihuahua in the mix, and you got yourself a great kids movie!
Venkman Out!

I think it’s possible you are misunderstanding his statements. He said “the same way it felt for me…when I was a kid.” So he may be implying that he saw the original when he was a kid, so why wouldn’t kids be interested in discovering Axel Foley for the first time. Kind of like back in 1997 when Star Wars was re-released and their was all this talk about a whole new generation of kids discovering “the force.”
I think there is no way Cop 4 is PG. Part 3 was pg-13 if I remember correctly, so that is a possibility. But no way PG.
I hope your right EMH. But I just don’t know. I didn’t get to watch those movies until they came out on VHS. My parents would have never taken me to the theater to see it. So unless it goes strait to DVD or its PG the kiddies ain’t gonna go see it. As for PG-13 part 3 was the worst of the series. I will most likely end up like Rush Hour without the kung fu.
