Bruce Cambell Talks about ‘Evil Dead 4′

Venkman here – Sam Raimi mentioned this year at Comic-Con that he wanted to make an ‘Evil Dead 4′ movie. Now if he was just saying that to please the fans ears at the time I am going to be pissed! I think he was telling the truth though. MTV recently sat down for an interview with the greatest B movie actor to walk the face of the earth Bruce Campbell about what is going on with ‘Evil Dead 4′. Is it happening? Is he going to be in it?
“When he’s ready, I’m ready,”
That what bruce had to say about Sam Raimi making the film and Bruce is ready to go. As of right now though nothing has been written or planned out. But Bruce and Sam have talked about the film in great length and how they would want to tackle it.
“Sam gets to hide behind the camera. I can’t. But I think he’s planning on factoring that in,” Campbell revealed. “As like a major factor. It’d be a major liability, you know Ash runs out of breath or his back goes out and [stuff] like that. I mean I just blew my hamstring fighting a stunt guy for ‘Burn Notice,’ the show that I’m doing now. So there’s a little bit of truth to all of that!”
Well they are going to have to factor in Bruce’s age but why not I think it will add on to the character, story and comedy of the movie. You can’t make another Evil Dead movie without Bruce. ‘Army of Darkness’ came out in 1992, so this movie would explore the character Ash 16 years later. Awesome.
They also discussed in the interview movie like ‘Live Free or Die hard’ and the last ‘Indiana Jones’ movie to come out and how they brought in these younger actors to move the story forward. Will Ash have a teenage son to take his place?
“I think the audience would be insulted if you did, because then you feel this obvious pressure to appeal,” he said. “The beauty of the ‘Evil Dead’ movies is that you’re only appealing to one demographic and that’s people who like horror movies. And you just have to please them. You don’t have to appeal to the studio. You’re already pleasing them by giving them part 4.”
Well said my good man! I agree 100%. and here is the best part:
“Nobody knows anything,” he said. “I mean if we were really smart [though], we’d go back to a handheld movie and shoot it in 16mm and find someplace in the middle of nowhere. And have a crew of 10 people. If we were smart.”
Hell yes! If they were smart. Will they be smart? Only time will tell.
I am a huge fan of the Evil Dead series and I would love to see this movie get made and get made right. I really hope this all comes together.
YES YES YES! I grew up watching all the Evil Deads and I’ve always wanted another one to come out. I hope that the movie is closer to the 1st or 2nd ones rather then Army of darkness style. But everything will be ok as long as Sam remembers to include his car in it.
Awsome..i freaked when i found out! It’s gonna be awsome. Yeha i agree i hope they follow the basic premise of the first two..but i would love the attitude, comedy and adventure of army of darkness to stay. Bruce acts best in that one.
‘Evil Dead 4′ probably won’t be the title actually, it’s probably just a working title. Just like

Im actually hoping they follow on from the directors cut ending to the Army Of Darkness…the one where Ash ends up in a apocalyptic Deadite Future.
This is clearly becouse the video games followed on from the original ending, and it might contridict the games a little bit. It’s best to stay true to all incarnations of the evil dead timeline.
I like the idea of different possiblilities and paths Ash might have took. It’s Kinda like all the ‘Zelda Timelines’. In no way do i want the Evil Dead series to attempt to be complex or artistic. But that idea is pretty cool when satisfying us geek fans. lol.
I actually prefure the S-mart ending infact (i think most people do)..but i do believe that Evil Dead 4 should continue on from the directors cut ending..in any case ill be happy just to see Ash fight the deadites again.

I'm at a loss for words right now just reading what Bruce had to say and his hints have me Speechless, like wow…."when he's ready, i'm Ready" ??!!!! ….Well that's Fairly Obvious. I would Actually like to see Sam Raimi, ACTUALLY, return to his true horror routes and make this film an Unrated Horror film! Instead of this pussy ass 14A shit. When I think of Evil Dead I Think of the ultimate experience of grueling horror!!!!!!!!!!
And TECHNICALLY this would be the 5th installment in the Dead Series if you have ever seen "within the woods" -Sam Raimi's Underground Horror Hit…ya sheeee… So… With That thought of this Film Being a continuation of the Originals and not some shitty remake it really truely ignites that spirit of when I was a kid ….and with that conclusion this should B rather GROOVY….. =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) ……..YAYYYYYYYY FOR BRUCE & GET ON THAT SAM THERES AN ARMY OF US DEADITES WAITING IM SURE OF IT Hahahahaha…….AAAAAND FU*K INDIANA JONES 4… HAHAHAHA WE'RE TALKIN EVIL DEAD….THE CHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not some sloppy acting Harrison Ford SHIT!!!!! But Yeah, I'm gonna go watch the whole series now…..for the next…..however long it takes to come out……so it's all fresh ….for when the new one comes out….
