Russell Crowe plays the 2 lead roles in Scotts Nottingham film

This is a little strange but it looks like Russell Crowe is going to play both Robin Hood and The Sheriff of Nottingham in Ridley Scotts upcoming Robin Hood tale ‘Nottingham’. Ridley Scott told MTV the following:

“He’s playing both!” exclusively to MTV News during an interview for his new film “Body of Lies,” which co-stars Crowe. While Scott held additional details close to his chest – saying they would take too long to describe – he did exclaim that Crowe’s dual roles would be “a good old clever adjustment of characters. One becomes the other. It changes.”

This will be an interesting take on the Robin Hood story since is never been done like this before. I assume the story will be something like The Sheriff of Nottingham by day and Robin Hood by night type superhero story. Like Dexter only not a serial killer. It’s not to far fetched. Scott has got a great eye for story telling, and I think no matter what he does he will make it work. Unless he ends up making the two main characters long lost twin brothers, then I’m out.

What do you think about it?

he’s got the accent for Robin Hood (or the sheriff), though he’ll probably have to get a bit slimmer than what his recent role in Body of Lies
