Mark Millar Superman Plot Revealed and WOW!

Mark Miller recently sat down with Empire and shared his Superman Movie pitch with them. This movie would be epically amazing! I cannot believe that Warner bro’s has not jumped on this idea because it’s brilliant and huge!Mark Millar wants to create an epic 8-hour screen story which will follow the entire life of Kal-El from his birth on Krypton a thousand years ago, until he is the last being left on Earth.

Whoa.

We know Millar has been working closely with an unnamed big-Hollywood director but we still don’t know who – on a pitch he is calling the Magnum Opus of Superman stories. The 8-hour saga, would be split into 3 films released once a year. Here he goes into a little bit more of the story.

“It’s gonna be like Michael Corleone in the Godfather films, the entire story from beginning to end, you see where he starts, how he becomes who he becomes, and where that takes him. The Dark Knight showed you can take a comic book property and make a serious film, and I think the studios are ready to listen to bigger ideas now.”

I hope they are ready to listen! Hell if they don’t jump on board this thing then we know they are not listening and Hollywood is full of dumb-asses. He goes on to say:

“I want to start on Krypton, a thousand years ago, and end with Superman alone on Planet Earth, the last being left on the planet, as the yellow sun turns red and starts to supernova, and he loses his powers.”

I just got goose bumps. This would be the most amazing superhero film ever made. The hero Superman deserves to have this ultimate film made about him. I am so on board this idea! If Warner Bros goes with anything other than this then I will be so pissed off. They were smart with Batman and stupid with the last Superman movie. It is time to be smart with Superman. Take this idea! Make into a movie! Anything else would be uncivilized.

The idea that a Superman trilogy would end like that angers me to no end. When did this idiotic world decide to make Superman a tragic character?

I never understood the “Superman lives forever” concept to begin with, but if that’s the weird understanding of a Kryptonian life that we want to embrace, at least have the decency to end his story on a happy note, instead of shoving it in our faces that he lives until the entire human race has died off.

That would be the dumbest ending to a Superman story I’ve ever heard of. He’s supposed to be on the opposite end of the spectrum to Batman. Batman is dark and depressing. Superman is supposed to give us hope, make us happy.

The entire world is dead, and Superman lives alone until the universe renders him mortal? Ridiculous.

I entirely disagree with your comment Just Another. Superman isn’t the clean cut hero he’s supposed to be, if you think about it he’s the orphaned child of a family that decided to eject him into space in an attempt to save his life as his won planet disintegrated. Virtually every surviving member of his race attempts to kill him. He must surely be one of the most lonely beings in the univers, he can never be human never be kryptonian and would live until the end of the earths yellow sun as that is where his power comes from.

From what you say it sounds like you’d like to see him end witha family kids a dog and picket fence. That is most definatly not how the world works!

    Take breath, end rant.

    Time for an impression…

    *ahem*

Hi. I’m a big Hollywood Producer. I just read your idea Mark Millar and I don’t get it. Whats this Krypton planet? and who is Kal-El. I think we will go ahead and make another Superman movie where he doesn’t throw a punch.

    *end scene*

just proving a point that if Hollywood TRULY listened to the fans, this movie would be the end all be all comic book film.

I went in jail once for stealing an old Superman comic. Since it was worth over $500, it got me 7 years. I was buttfucked multiple times per day. When they found out, I stole a comic, they called my man who pimped me Superman. Now I hate Superman movies.
