For the last few weeks I went looking to buy the game “Dead Space” that I heard was supposed to be pretty badass!. Much to my delight, it was sold out everywhere I went. To me that is a good sign of a good game. I finally picked up a copy and……DAMN!

First off the graphics are fantastic. The game is revolutionary in the sense that there is no HUD (Heads-up Display). Your life gage and stasis gage are part of the actual character leaving you to see the beauty of the environment. That is, if you find corpses and blood splattered spaceship bulkheads beautiful.

The game also takes a new approach to the shooter in the sense that you need to dismember your enemies to kill them. Headshots won’t really work to well here. The weapons are fantastic. Ripper saws, laser cutters, Mine launchers, trusty pulse rifles and of course Flame Throwers.

But that is not all. You also get to explore Zero-G environments, and you get to use 2 great abilities. Stasis, which slows time down for a few seconds (a la “Enter The Matrix”), and a Kinesis ability similar to what we have seen in “Force Unleashed”, where you can move objects around to complete objectives.


Dead Space is like a cross between Doom 3 and Resident Evil. It is a great game for anyone who loves Horror games or Shooter games. Check it out and see for yourself. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.
