Yeah, I just love the scene where Young Kirk’s vette tears through the flat Iowa cornfields and then plunges into the deep stony canyon. Because we Iowans always have to look out for those grand canyons right next to cornfields. Sheesh.
it’s not a canyon, it’s blatently a quarry. sheer walls, box structure…
The grand canyon-sized canyon could have been caused by something like… World War III?
Remember this movie takes place quite a ways into the future, lots of things happened between now and when James T. Kirk steps onto the Enterprise Bridge for the first time.
Dear God tell me that someone in here isn’t complaining about the movie because some part of the trailer is unrealistic.
What makes me giggle is CDS is bitching about the scenery, and yet the world over, trekkie fanboys are busy focusing on the fact that according to the Original Series, Kirk doesn’t even know what a car is. In an episode of the show, when they encountered a car, Spock had to explain to him what it was. Personally i don’t give a shit! People need to chillax.
AND OMG LEONARD NIMOY LOOKS AWESOME! He looks so… awesome! YaY new trailer… ish! sorta hehe
To the whole canyon thing:
If you chose to accept Enterprise as part of the ST cannon, then could it be from the Zendi Attack?
Again, too much action-packed stuff, short on character development.
I’m really going to have to write the next one.
Nimoy is awesome beyond words.
CDS stop your complaining…woman
Um, ever heard of Europa Planetia? It is where the Enterprise was built. Not on the GROUND. Anyone who thinks that a spaceship that size would be built on the gounrd is stupid. This is a complete departure to the rest of the Star Trek Universe.
“Anyone who thinks that a spaceship that size would be built on the gounrd is stupid.”
Learn how to type before calling other people stupid.
Besides, they could built the ship over an inverse gravity plating deck (Enterprise) to counteract the Earths gravity. Just a thought.
Andy – Since you are basing your argument on hypothetical Star Trek technology, I have to ask: why would they then have bothered to subsequently build ships in space where the technical requirements and expenditure would have been far greater?
