Dr. Venkman Reviews: Quantum of Solace

James Bond totally scored again, but surprisingly only once in this movie! Quantum of Solace is yet another fantastic Bond film that delivers everything that any fan of the series would love to see. If you enjoyed the last James Bond film then you are in for a treat. This movie is an incredible action flick that is non-stop and hardcore.

I just can’t imagine what is going to happen if Daniel Craig stops playing this iconic character. He plays this role so well and he brings such a badassness to it that no other actor has been able to bring to Bond. They have all brought their own unique strengths to the character, but Craig just has all the qualities that make James Bond, James Bond.

The movie starts off hours after Casino Royal left it with a pretty sweet car chase scene. As you know Bond was betrayed by the woman he loved Vesper, and as he goes through his latest mission he is trying to hold back on making it personal. As he is trying to uncover the truth of what went down in the last film, he discovers the organization that is behind the blackmail of Vesper and the plot to steal Bond’s casino winnings and it’s more complex and dangerous than MI6 had imagined. The organization is called Quantum, and James Bond will stop at nothing to bring them down.

This is one hell of an enjoyable movie. It has got solid characters, a great plot line, and it’s all surrounded and tied together with these incredible action sequences. I mean, they do everything! Car chases, Boat chases, airplane chases, foot chase, explosions, small room fight sequences, big room fight sequences. There are a couple scenes that could have come from the Bourne movies, it gets really gritty, which makes sense because Dan Bradley from the Bourne movies was the 2nd unit director.

As for the Bond Women; Judi Dench as M was fantastic and looked great! Oh wait, you wanted to here about Olga Kurylenko as Camille and Gemma Arterton as Strawberry Fields. Well, they were hot, and the perfect fit as Bond girls. James Bond being the ladies man that he is, usually gets more tail in his films, but not in this one. He is to busy kicking peoples asses.

As for the Villain; a classic douche bag named Dominic Greene played by Mahieu Amalric who is just a greedy son of a bitch and will stop at nothing to get what he wants, until Bond comes in and kicks his sorry ass. The character looks like a cross between Tim Roth, Roman Polanski, and Adolf Hitler.

I recommend ‘Quantum of Solace’ to everybody, because it is a film everyone can enjoy. It’s got everything a great Bond movie needs. There is really nothing else coming out this week anyway. This movie is going to blow up at the box office. Also they are playing the trailer for J.J. Abrams ‘Star Trek’ movie which looked freakin awesome! So you have that to look forward to as well. They showed it in the theater I went to anyway.

Enjoy you time watching ‘Quantum of Solace’ in the theaters!

Quantum of Solace was entertaining, but they could have done with seven or either less chase scenes

This is not a good movie!
I watched it last evening but wasn’t as good as the previous ones. The action scenes in quantum of solace weren’t up to the mark as well as the villain was not a strong opponent of bond! This goes into one of the bad movies of Bond.

How could you say it’s not a great movie? the last two are already much much better than any cheesy/campy previous Bonds. And they didn’t lose the action or the women, just the cheese factor (invisible cars etc.). Royale was maybe a little better but both still great.

This movie is very bad. Not at all worth watching. It is a blemish on the age old Bond movies. I loved Pierce Brosnan. He was the real bond. Or should I say he was the Bond.
