I must warn any reall Holmes fans that it’s pretty awful. I think I’ll save my movie ticket money for something a little more original. I mean, would it have killed them NOT to butcher Holmes’ character??

Ethan. you are 100% right on about Guy Ritchie over complicating the plot lines in his films. He needs to take a step back and calm down a bit, focus on the story and keep it simple. Shelock Holmes can be a great film. I want it to be great! I don’t want it to be a Guy Ritchie “Cool” movie. Thats so 90’s.

This has potential to be pretty kick-ass, but here’s the thing: Guy Ritchie has a tendency to over-complicate the plotlines of his films in attempt to achieve that “Oh my god, that was clever” reaction from the audience. He needs to keep it simple and straightforward, in order to please the commonfolk like myself. Oh well. It’s not like I have the slightest idea of what the hell I’m talking about, I just want people to think I do.

This really doen’t sound cool, it’s a very similar plot to ‘Sherlock: A Case for Evil’, ‘Young Sherlock Holmes’ and ‘Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper’. Basically it *is* the Masonic Jack the Ripper conspiracy theory, just without Jack the Ripper! A cheesy action flick when they could have made something decent based on the stories by Conan Doyle, but nope, once again they’ve not bothered.
