No Crane Kick in the Karate Kid remake!?

As you know Will Smiths son Jaden Smith has signed on to play the lead role in a new Karate Kid movie based on the classic 1980’s film. As far as I am concerned the original movie was perfect, and there is no point to make a new one. To make things worse we got news today that young Jaden wants to have nothing to do with the famous Carne Kick. He wants to base his fighting style off of what he sees in the video games he plays on his XBOX. Joblo.com reports:
We got Will talking on the KARATE KID remake the other day and he said he’s “begging” Jaden to include the crane kick in KARATE KID even though Jaden wants no part of it. Will says that he plays fighting video games and wants to model some of his moves off what he sees coming out of his Xbox. While that’s truly a frightening thought, remember that Will is actually producing the film and may have to lay the smack down. You just cannot have a KARATE KID remake with out the crane kick. And some wiseass kid screaming “get him a body bag, YEAHHHH!!”
I agree 100%, Will needs to lay down the law on this one. He is the producer of the movie! Whats Jaden going to do if he doesn’t get his way? Throw a temper tantrum and walk off the movie? In the end, no matter what they do with this movie it’s not going to be the same as the original, so what are we going to do? See it and complain how bad it was compared to the first one.

I fail to see why it matters what Jaden Smith wants. He’s an actor and not a writer/director/producer. Unless i missed someting and this child actor has suddenly sprouted a magic hat that allows him to dictate the terms and actions of a movie with the words “Because my xbox said so”. If this rumor is true i’m disgusted that Will Smith would allow his son to behavior in such a diva manner when we hear such good things about Will Smith himself.
As great as the Crane Kick was, still is – the Villain made the whole movie work. Having a douche-bag, true-to-life a-hole villain (Johnny Lawrence) who was the same guy that every kid who loved that movie knew and hated made that movie what it was. Mr. Miyagi was important too – I think the Crane Kick is the least of the worries in a remake of such a classic film. Most remakes totally miss whatever it was that made the originals such great movies – again, the crane kick is important, but seriously, for the movie to have any chance Jaden needs to convince the audience that he has zero self confidence and Johnny Lawrence needs to be one of the leads from High School Musical.
Good Call Captain.
This Movie is "Out of commission"!!
