It was rumored not to long ago that Rob Zombie would be coming back to direct a sequel to his first awful attempt at Halloween, and now he officially gets to continue the re-vamped franchise that he destroyed. Variety Reports:
Zombie will write and direct “H2,” the sequel to his 2007 reinvention of the John Carpenter horror classic. Production will begin in March.
Don’t you just love how they are calling it ‘H2′?
The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers’ murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.
Zombie said it won’t resemble the original second installment, as the “House of 1000 Corpses” helmer continues to take the franchise in different directions.
Well, the first one didn’t resemble the original first installment either so I wouldn’t expect the second film to either.
Zombie took Carpenter’s original and stamped it with an original storyline that treated Myers as a clinical psychopath. The film grossed $60 million domestically in 2007.
Zombie had told Dimension chief and TWC co-chairman Bob Weinstein he wanted nothing to do with a sequel. But just like the franchise’s villain, Zombie was compelled to come back.
He was compelled? Did he need the money?
“I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again,” Zombie said. “Now, we’ll be hauling ass, and that’s the problem making a movie called ‘Halloween’: If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I’d be fine.”
So they are going to rush this thing into production to get it done before next Halloween. It will probably end up worse than the last one. Do you think his sequel will make more than $60 million?

Seriously, I’m surprised that anyone backs this guy at all anymore – someone needs to put together a clinical study to prove that people get dumber after watching his films. I suppose his stuff is probably good for getting detainees at Guantanamo to talk.

I am huge fan of his music. I think he is great at it and does music that is original and definitively Rob Zombie. I just really don’t like his movies. They just never seem to work right.
p.s. The music videos he directs aren’t too bad though.
i guess we all have our own opinions cuz i thought his version of halloween was good. i tried not to compare it becuz the original is one of my favorite movies. i was hopin he would make a second one n now im happy. its not like there have been many good horror films that have come out in the last 20 years anyway. maybe a few.

You people are fuckin’ retarded. Rob Zombie is the best thing to happen to the Horror genre since John Carpenter himself. He will be ranked with the greats….Carpenter, King, Craven etc…. As an avid Halloween fan I felt the new Halloween was amazing, and believe the 2nd will be as well. Just because you people can’t see the subtle stuff he puts into his movies to show respect to the original movie/creators doesn’t mean he is worthless. Horror movies are my thing and if you really want to have a beef with someone “new” look at Eli Roth and the filth he’s made. Rob Zombie rocks hard in the movie buisness. I have never liked his music…. but his movies have taken the Horror genre into a whole new direction, and as to what I beleive people really wanted to do with the movies but couldn’t back then because of “standards”. So bite your tongues your filthy bastards and sit back and wait for the the tidal wave that will be H2… I CAN”T FUCKIN” WAIT

I love Rob Zombie films .His remake was amazing and in every way better than the originals .Smarter dialogue and a more in depth storyline not to mention the atmosphere and vibe were all there as well . If you dont like his movies dont watch em . You obviously cant handle them and they are too much for you campy spoonfed horror faggots. P.S……….. Lick Balls!!!
I am 45-years-old. I’ve been a huge fan of Halloween since the beginning. I do not care for Rob Zombie or his “interpretation” of the original movies. He’s basically trash in my opinion. To go back and psychoanalyze why Michael Myers is who he is was ridiculous in my view. I don’t want to know why he is a psycho killer. I don’t want to go to a movie and listen to “F***” this and “F***” that every three minutes. I don’t want to see blood and gore like in the Saw movies. The entire success of the first movie was the fact that it took little blood and gore for the audience to be scared. John Carpenter was able to tap into creepiness and horror with our own imaginations. Now we have this trash talking leech ruining our movie. These are not true Halloween movies in my opinion. These are “Rob Zombie pet projects” exploiting the Halloween name. I watch my Halloween movies regularly and can tell you that Zombie’s version has only been played once on my DVD. I think it’s irresponsible for them to allow him to create a new movie.

why is everyone hating on rob zombie? ive seen every halloween movie at least 100 times over (including robs!) and I honestly dont see anything wrong with it. why not give a backstory to michael? it does nothing but ADD to the plot! its not like it took anything away! you guys really think zombie destroyed halloween? what about halloween: ressurection then? zombie was nowhere near that movie and it was a huge peice of shit! zombie has his own style of scary, thats why the movies called Rob zombies halloween. before zombies halloween came along michael was haging out in a house full of cameras for some live internet show…….weak…….thats where the series was left before zombie remade it…..im glad he redid the first halloween and the second was pretty good…..im just happy my last memory of myers isnt him in some house on webcam……just sayin……
