Who would YOU choose as the next “Dark Knight” villain?

This is a discussion that is floating around the internet. Everyone thinks that they know the perfect super villain for Christopher Nolans next Batman film. The thing is, I think the fans should choose who the next super villain should be. If not choose, then have a say in the process. So this is what I am going to do for you, I am going to give a pretty complete list of villains that I think fit into the Chris Nolan world of the Bat. You will notice that a few of your favorites may not be on this list. There is a reason for that. I feel that CN has created a Gotham that is more reality based then the Tim Burton version. So the villains that I chose, I think, are more real.
Look at the list and vote on who you think should be in the next film. And for those of you who think that my list is way off, put in your own nominee and the reason why they should be the villain. Two-Face and Scarecrow are already established characters so they are not included on this list. If your argument is convincing enough, it will be put in the running. Each villain will have a link that will send you to a description of each character. Like always, let me know what you think!

i would LOVE to see bane as the next villain. but it would be equally cool to have someone more well known so if thats the case, i choose the riddler, especially since (supposedly) they already set him up with Anthony Michael Hall’s character.

I felt that Killer Croc and Clayface were too off the wall for CN’s world. I also thought that The Madhatter and The Ventriloquist are just too ridiculous.
I would like to see Bane as a villian but they should leave him for the last movies of Batman. Id like to see The Riddler in the next movie and he should be played by Joel McHale or something. Not Jim Carrey. I think having Superman as a villain to Batman is just ignorant. Merry Christmas Venkman and the rest of the GeekTyrant Crew!!!

So, I’m pretty 100% certain that The Riddler will be one of the main characters. If you look back at TDK release junkets there’s one where Gary Oldman hints pretty heavily that The Riddler will be in the third film.
Also, when rearranged, the letters in the name of the character that Anthony Michael Hall plays in the film (Mike Engle) spell: ENIGMA. Granted, that’s only if you use Michael Engle, and there’s still an L, L, E, E, C, H left…but…it’s still a possibility
There was also a Catwoman reference in TDK…after Bruce gets his new upgraded armor from Lucius, he asks how it will hold up against dogs. Lucius tells him that it depends if it’s a Rottweiler or a Chihuahua, but it should do just fine against cats.
Mr. Zsasz would be my personal pick, however.
What about Gunhawk? He’d be an interesting “real” character.
I don’t know if veiwers would appreciate Prometheis the “anit-batman” and I think that Batman Forever is too fresh in people’s mind’s for the Riddler to return. Same with Batman and Robin with Freeze and Ivy. Or Catwoman after Halle Berry’s movie. But I have faith Nolan could make it work.
I think an slightly less known villian like Gunhawk would be better because then Nolan could really create his own “version” of the character.
Harley Quinn could work except she is so closely tied to the Joker that it’d be tough to NOT show his character again- and I don’t want a different Joker after Heath’s performance. They screwed up big time having a different Rachel (Maggie Gylenhall? What were you thinking?!) but they didn’t have much of a choice there.
Realistically…. I’m going to be stoked for the next movie no matter what.
P.S. I think Hush would be my next choice after Gunhawk.
Hush would be great but you would need a lot of other villains to be featured first to really “adapt” Hush correctly. But That would be a really good villain for Chris Nolan’s Batman.
OK, after much discussion with my friends… maybe Zsasz and Deacon Blackfire. And eventually Talia Al Ghul.
