Hey Gang, so check it out. Thanks to AMC Entertainment if you live in or around the Los Angeles area we have (1) ticket to give away to join Dr. Venkman for a full freakin day of 2008 Best Picture movie watching.
The Event will take place On Saturday Feb. 21at the Los Angeles – AMC Block 30 in Orange. The first movie starts at 10:30 am.
If you are interested in winning a Free Pass and hanging out then here is what you gotta do:
In the Rant Back section below (Scroll all the way to the bottom) and explain to us why you want to go watch movies all day long, because most people don’t normally do that. Our judges will read through them and whoever gives us the best explanation wins!

I haven’t seen any of the movies because I haven’t had the time recently. I didn’t think I would get a chance but I just got laid off and now it looks like I have the extra time to check em out. I would love to go.

I watch movies at home for hours at a time. What better way to do this but in a theater! But this time with 5 potential Best Picture films? That’s just amazing and most of them are movies I’d actually want to see for once. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday. My only question is though, will I have enough time to grab food in between films?
That is a pretty cool prize. I would personally love that. I have only seen one of those movies so far and I really wanted to see Slumdog and Gran Turino.
Hey Doc, I for one would buy a ticket last minute and fly out to LA for the day to kick back with ya’ll. I live in Tucson, AZ so the tickets would be cheap. I would not have a problem getting out there. Anyways, some people claim that they are film buffs but I don’t believe most people because I am a different breed of film fanatic. For some people, its the occasional film once a week. For others, it is researching films and following certain actors. Then there are the people who follow the projects of directors/producers, etc. I do all of the above but my love for cinema extends beyond even that. Movies are more than a hobby for me, they are a way of life. I have actually based decisions in my life off of my favorite characters motives in a film. I think about films more than anything in my life. I can quote them all day and when I fall asleep, I dream of the art of cinema. I have a few movie-going experiences (such as midnight Star Wars screenings) that were so magical and unique, that I wouldn’t trade them for anything (if yo could trade those sort of things
So, to make a long story short, I love cinema and I would love to attend the Oscarthon.

I would LOVE to go and spend a whole day watching the Oscar nominated films. First of all I have always loved going to the movies. Ever since I was little it was always a way my Dad and I would bond. There is nothing like laughing at the same jokes, and enjoying the same moments together during a movie that can bring you together. My Dad has since passed but I still enjoy going to the movies even if it’s by myself. Watching movies at home just does not compare. One of my most memorable movie experiences was seeing The Godfather for my first time at the movies for a special showing. I enjoyed it so much and could not believe I had lived my life this long without seeing the Godfather (thank goodness a friend remedied this). I loved it so much I decided to stay for The Godfather Part 2 which kept me out till 3am on a weeknight. Yes, I made it to work later that morning. This was crazy but totally worth it!! And I’m glad the first time I saw it was on the big screen, omg!!! So, thank you for giving me this opportunity to win free tickets and share my most memorable movie going experience.
