Ghostbusters 3 hopes to shoot Fall of 2009

Awesome! I am all for another ‘Ghostbusters’ movie, under a couple conditions, the original cast needs to play a part in it, and it has to be better than the sequel. I really liked the sequel, but it wasn’t as good as the first one. The last thing we heard about ‘Ghostbusters 3′ is that everyone was on board and excited to do it which was great! TV show ‘The Office’ writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitski had teamed up with Harold Ramis to write the script after he got pissed they were writing it without him. Since then we have not heard much about what has been going on. Then Dan Aykroyd appeared out of nowhere in Boston for the opening of a new House of Blues venue, and this is what he told reporters which is an exact quote from the Boston Globe

“hope to be in production by late fall 2009″.

Very cool! I also hope they start shooting in 2009! Hope is a powerful thing and if we get enough people hoping for this thing it may actually happen. I understand that hope doesn’t mean this is for sure, but it does mean they are working on things and they have a plan, and just knowing there is a plan is good enough for me. I just hope they don’t screw it up.

I’ve already put together the best plotline in my head for Ghostbusters 3 to be a success:

The “boys” (Eagon, Ray, Peter, and Winston) are relaxed on some beach in the South Pacific, having long since taken a “very laid back” position with the now worldwide Ghostbusters franchise business. The company has gone global, cashed in on every merchandising opportunity they can, and most Ghostbuster franchises are like McDOnald’s (flashy, plastic, not quite as good as the original). Most of the time the teams roll in and execute some theatrics only to have some piece of Eagon’s “tech” do the job.

Until something (from New York of course) awakens that no one can stop. The boys get called out of retirement, and end of bitching and moaning about how the young kids are all handling things, then save the day.

Alright, so it’s not the most fleshed out idea, or the best, but I would love to see them as the old, tired (near retired) men they are after fighting ghosts for so long.

that plot actually makes sence, though it seems like there would be alot of old man jokes. they could bring in a fresh face to play a trainee that helps them maybe IDk.

Holy Cow Ben! I love that idea! They could take it in some many different directions. Nice.

Nice idea for the plot – better copyright it before you see it appear on the big screen

Seriously looking forward to this and the forthcoming game. I can’t wait to bust some ghosts alongside Egon, Ray, Peter and Winston – ah man that is gonna be sweet!!!
