Hey Gang! I have a new trailer to show you for a Korean vampire film called ‘Thirst‘. This trailer was my first exposure to the film and it looks like it is going to be pretty damn good. The best part about the film is the guy that’s directing. His name is Park Chan-wooks and he is the the brains behind that incredibly badass movie ‘Oldboy‘. With this knowledge alone I know this movie is going to turn out unlike any Vampire movie we have seen before.

A beloved and devoted priest (Song Kang-ho) from a small town volunteers for a medical experiment which fails and turns him into a vampire. Physical and psychological changes lead to his affair with a wife of his childhood friend who is repressed and tired of her mundane life. The one-time priest falls deeper in despair and depravity. As things turns for the worse, he struggles to maintain what’s left of his humanity.

I am very excited to see this movie. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!

Possible translations for the captions thanks to Bloody-Disgusting:

‘You shall not murder.’
‘You shall not commit adultery.’
‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.’
‘Bloodlust disturbs his soul.’
last line : Vampires aren’t immortal. Do you still want my blood?

I love all of Chan-wook Park’s films – Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is one of the greatest films ever made IMHO.
Very excited for this one. Mix in Song Kang Ho (from The Host), and we have a must-see flick.
The year’s looking up at last!
