Natalie Portman Cast in THOR? But Who will Play Thor?

‘Thor‘ is one of those films I am really looking forward to. I have high hopes for this one, and with Kenneth Branagh directing I am pretty sure this is going to be a great film. Marvel is currently in the process of casting the film and it seems like there are a handful of actors out there that have a shot at playing the lead character Thor. Before I go through these names rumor has it via deadlinehollywood that Natalie Portman is in the lead to play the main female role in the film which would be great! Who doesn’t like Natalie Portman!? They don’t say who she will play, but I just assume it will be Sif.
As for who will take on the role of Thor there are four low key actors that are currently in the running:
Charlie Hunnam who is the British co-star of the F/X series ‘Sons Of Anarchy’.I could see him in the role of Thor.
Tom Hiddleston who is a award-winning British actor who played Winston Churchill’s son in HBO’s The Gathering Storm. I don’t see it at all. He does not have the build or the look.
Alexandar Skarsgard who was in the HBO Iraq War miniseries Generation Kill and vampire drama True Blood. He is the best choice out of the bunch.
Joel Kinnaman who hasn’t really done much, and who in no way shape or form should even be considered for the role, but maybe hes a good actor.
I am pretty sure out of the choice we are given Alexandar Skarsgard is the guy most likely to get the part. What are you thoughts on Natalie Portman posibly being cast and the options that we are given for the role of Thor?
I really like Alexandar Skarsgard too, but if not, I’ll be very happy with Charlie Hunnam. Although, with Natalie Portman in it, they’re off to a reaaaally great start. Fingers crossed for awesomeness!
oy, Portman better not be Sif. I could see her as Jane Foster, but not an Asgardian.
What are the chances they’re actually casting Blake and Thor separately? Might explain some of the weedier choices.
Charlie Hunnam is a *terrible* actor. I’ve only ever liked him in Queer as Folk and Undeclared (i.e. on TV, where he belongs). His film performances are uniformly awful (Nicholas Nickleby and Green Street especially) and he’d be a terrible choice for Thor. I like Skarsgard a lot too.
I agree with Dude, Portman is no Asgard woman, and Skarsgard is perfect! I have my fingers perpetually crossed until we find out for certain.
For the actors these are the best you know for this role?none of them even get close of how Thor should look.He has to be big(the hammer it is heavy) he needs the power to handle it.Is like replacing Arnold in “Connan the Barbarian” with Tom Cruise.For this role I would put other names on the list not these guys.For a soap series they will do just fine but not for impersonating one of the biggest viking god-warriors.
I’m not thrilled with any of these guys, but I agree, of the lot, Alexandar Skarsgard is the best.
I’m not a fan on Natalie Portman. As cute as the masses may find her, she is a legendarily bad actress. Luckily for her, being hot fan boy fodder seems to be more important than talent.
I Like Skarsgard too. But seeing this pic og Charlie Hunnam. I wouldn’t be bummed out. However, If either of those wimpy looking skinny guys is cast as MightyThorGodofThunder I will be forced to boycott all things marvel for the rest of my worthless life. (life will not be worth living if Marvel Movies begin to suck)
However I am not sure how Natalie portman keeps getting roles in nerdtastic movies. SHE SUCKS Good lord!
