Now this is a STAR TREK Poster and its the Last One
Earlier this week we revealed four new international Star Trek Posters and as you know I didn’t really like them. But this new poster which was released by Paramount Pictures is being called the final theatrical one-sheet. This is completely different from any Star Trek poster I have seen so far, and I love it. Out of all the posters this one is my favorite. Some people may see it as “blurry” and “what?” but I think it’s a very cool retro work of art. What do you think?

niiiiiice.
I like it. In fact, I like it a lot. The use of black and white is a stroke of artistic genius. The enterprise shooting into warp speed gives me the impression of the high energy ride this movie is going to be. The TV show was always a slow, plodding drama that was hypnotic, once you got into it, but it had a certain cadence. It was a comfortable pace you could expect every week. The later shows lost that hypnotic quality even though their production values were much higher.
I really like the “back to the beginning” idea, where we see the great James T. Kirk–savior of the galaxy merge from his teenage angst and start his path to become the superhero of the future. (I’ll bet it hurts like hell in this movie
Spock looks a bit cartoonish in the movie previews, but I will withhold judgment until I see the movie (on opening day–duh!). I wish I could be at the Chinese, but that is a real commitment to drive to LA, not to mention the inevitable line.
I have a good feeling about this movie, and it’s weight/skin-shedding of everything that came before it. This poster reflects the known (everyone know what Star Trek is) and gives an unapologetic look at the new model. It’s like the ‘65 Mustang re-envisioned, and totally retro’ed, perhaps with an AM radio that screams “F– You! Nancy Boy!” The new Star Trek will have the coolest new CGI but none of the super advanced toys the old (well “matured in years”) James T. Kirk and his successors enjoyed. It’s a cowboy movie. And I like it. This poster speaks to me, and as I am the one eagerly anticipating this movie–that means they did the poster right.
That looks better.
it is soo AWESOME!
