Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks new WWII Mini Series THE PACIFIC Trailer

Band of Brothers is one of the greatest TV mini series ever made. Now the creative team that brought us that incredible show including executive producer Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks is going to bring us another WWII mini series called ‘The Pacific’. This new show will be a 10 part show that will air on HBO. ‘The Pacific’ is a series of intertwined stories that follow three Marines, Robert Leckie (played by James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone (Jon Seda), during America’s battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.

The show was shot on location in Australia. The following is a description of the show. “The extraordinary experiences of these men and their fellow Marines take them from the first clash with the Japanese in the haunted jungles of Guadalcanal, through the impenetrable rain forests of Cape Gloucester, across the blasted coral strongholds of Peleliu, up the black sand terraces of Iwo Jima, through the killing fields of Okinawa, to the triumphant, yet uneasy, return home after V-J Day.”

We have a trailer to show you , and it’s pretty exciting. I love these kinds of shows and this is one that I seriously am looking forward to watching.

I think we love WWII movies because its the only war that had a reason. I cant wait for this series.

Every war has a reason. It’s just whether you agree with the reason or not. And if you believe that the US should not be involved in the wars we are in today WWII should give you reason to believe we MUST be. When the US goes isolationist the world erupts. Whether we like it or not and whether they like it or not, the US must be involved or the world spirals into world war. Did we ask for it? No, but it is a fact. Read up and you will see the truth. EVERYTHING has a reason.

the US isnt the world police, its very arragant to think like that, the world wars had meaning yet the ones in todays world dont, leaders after “weapons of mass destruction” have they been found? no. have the coinsidential oil fields been secured? yes. not all wars have the right reasons if any, Vietnam was a pointless war and as a result the moral of the men was incredibly low and as a result the US got seven bells knocked out of them. to think that with out the US the world will “erupt” and “spiral into world war” is the most stupid thing ive heard in a long time, its just so arragant and ignorant its beyond belief. the world would not crumble into apocalyptic war just because the US isnt around to save the day. Team America – “America…f**k yeah…”

Yea, I think the next time that Western Europe is overrun by the Facists we should sit this one out, If it were not for American blood, the entirey of Western Europe would know be in their generation of speaking German. England would have been isolated and cut off and become just that, as island nation.
Australia, Singapore, China, and all of SE Asia would still be under Japanese rule.

Ask the people who actually benefited from American intervention in conflicts and see what their opinion is, not some pompous ass such as yourself who has no clue what they are talking about.

With war there are two sides to it…the right and the wrong…just like everything else in life…I agree with both sides….but when we fight there should be a "just" cause and not assumption….WWII was justified and we won….you can't compare the war in Iraq with the war in Germany. Some countries need to learn how to fight there own battles and grow a backbone before they expect us to come and save there asses….is like helping a homeless person who doesn't want to help themselves….we can't fight the whole damn world…but we can die trying for a justifiable cause.
