What in the Hell did Bay do to Jetfire in Transformers 2!?

The Picture above is a toy of Jetfire from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen that comes from Topless Robot. Um… No. What the hell is Jetfire doing with a cane! That’s bullcrap! He is a big robot with a cane and a beard! He’s old. Not that I have anything against old robots I’m just saying this is freakin Jetfire!
Jetfire will be voiced by John Turturro in the movie. Apparently jetfire is a retired Autobot that turns into a SR-71 Blackbird. The description of Jetfire is as follows:
Jetfire grew tired of war a long time ago. The reckless ambition of the Decepticons and the senseless violence of their war sickened him, and so he left Cybertron to go into hiding. The form he eventually chose on Earth seemed appropriate for one who wished to remain unseen. He slumbered in peace for years. Now, awakened by the arrival of the war on Earth, he decides once again to enter the fight – this time on the side of the Autobots, and this time to end it for good, whatever the cost.
I’m not very happy with Michael Bay right now regarding this, but whats done is done. I’m torn on this new Jetfire direction. To go along with this news is a pretty big Transformers 2 *SPOILER* so you have been warned don’t scroll down if you don’t want to know!

The action figures for Jetfire and Optimus Prime combine to form a bigger more giant robot to take on the Decepticons. Will they do this in the movie? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. What do you think?

Meh I think due to jetfire never really having a solid shape/form bay is just doing what he thinks will fit the story. I mean I was not to happy about megatron actually being galvatron but okay the movie did work and work beautifully. So when you do something as right as he did transformers one I’m gonna think he has a decent plan.
As far as the prime/jetfire merging okay that is like a generation 4 optimus prime trick from one of the recent incarnations of transformers, which was not a terrible idea because it allowed prime more options and it basically stopped the mass shifting on his trailer. If done right it can be awesome, and after transformers I think Bay might be able to get it right(since the original creators of transfomers came up with rodimus prime and he sucked assssssssss, so even geniuses can blow dick sometimes).
So I will save judgement til after the movie comes out, he got it right the first time and made billions I’m sure he isn’t gonna mess with his masterpiece too much(as long as he does not pull a raimi circa spiderman 3 and kill off all the good damn villians before the ending credits: venom dead after a 20 minute appearance WTF)
Transformers 1 had a little bit too much cheese, and not enough Decepticons, and no Soundwave. Prime saying, “My bad.” My bad? My BAD?! What will his line be in the next movie? “Don’t have a cow?”
And am I the only one who finds the whole Prime/Jetfire merge-transformation a little bit on the homoerotic side? Oh, my now-tainted childhood memories….
Having a “combiner” ‘bot is a staple of the cartoons and action figures. Aerialbots, stunticons, the list goes on. I always thought Prime was too cool/powerful for combining though. Aside from that, I think there are better ways to connote age in an autobot than giving them traditional “old man” characteristics like a cane. An old voice would be a good start…
I think Micheal Bay did a great job in making transformer. i've been a transformer fan ever since the first cartoon show. somethings can't be done in live action like in a cartoon. for example, megatron turning into ther walter ppk pistol. if he did that in live action, i'd laugh because megatron wouldn't be no larger then a grande iced mocha from star bucks! lets see you do better?
Jetfire look awesome. hes what ive been looking for in a transformer. even if he's old, he looks awesome.
hehe, jetfire is shown as a rather old transformer in the movie, so I guess its okay… for some crazy reason he kind of reminded me of my grandfather
Honestly, I think Jetfire should of been Cup if they we're making him some grizzled war vet.
honestly i know jetfire is suppost to be the vet and one of the older transformers but cmon!!!! its frickin jetfire! i was hopin to see him takin some decepticons out!! lol and he was an old dude with a cane now cmon..im not tryin to hate on bay but its jet fire. now thats not how i know jetfire! lol hes suppost to be one of the most bad@ss autobots. lol im just sayin i really was hopin to see jetfire have a much bigger and badder part in reven of the fallen
I'm not gunna argue with you guys as i hav'nt watched the old cartoons very much but i loved jetfire in trans 2, granted if you remember how he was, his appearnce now might be something of a let down but you cant argue with the way he goes out like a legend even if very brief. No Sacrifice No Victory! peace out.
