ALICE IN WONDERLAND New Photo and Concept art for Tim Burtons next film
The above picture is a new photo from Tim Burton’s next film ‘Alice in Wonderland’. This photo and the concept art below come from Disney 23 which is a new magazine they are putting out. This is part of the first issue. The only way to get this magazine is to join the club at D23 which is a Disney web community. The movie is supposed to open up March 5th 2010 and so far we have some set photos and a picture of what Johnny Depp will look like as the Madd Hatter. The quality of the photos are poor because they are scans from the magazine that originated from The Tim Burton Collective.
Tim Burton Say’s: “It’s kind of a mixture of some distorted live action and animation. I can’t relate it to anything because I’m not sure what to relate it to. It’s kind of new territory for me,” As far as casting goes Johnny Depp plays the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway plays the White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter plays the Red Queen, Alan Rickman plays the Caterpillar, Crispin Glover plays the The Knave of Hearts, Stephen Fry plays the Cheshire Cat, and Christopher Lee is in it. I’m pretty excited to see how this movie turns out. Tim Burton has made some great films and I’m looking forward to this one. What do you think?

Wow, how come he hasn’t done this before? It just seems to…. fit.
I look forward to this…Alice is my favorite ever and Depp is tackeling my favorite character. I hope he does it justice.
Michael Sheen (Lucian of Underworld fame) is in it too, altough he won’t say who he plays. I hope it’s the White Rabbit!!
And I’m definitely looking forward to it! <3
can’t wait!!
I just noticed this, if you click on the first picture of Alice and enlarge it, look at the animal on her dress on the bottom left hand side, i do believe it’s a white rabbit
Wow, this is a very promising direction for Tim Burton. It feels like he got into a bit of a funk for a minute there but I’m excited to see where this goes!
Tim Burton is such a douche
I hate Tim Burton so much. The guy is a shitty director who likes using stupid cinematic techniques to build his image. It used to be cute, but now he just does it because he knows that he can peddle his crap at the local Hot Topic for the next 2 decades till kids grow up and realize that they should stop giving Tim Burton money for not coming up with an original idea in a decade.
And I not just saying this because I’m bitter or jaded. I hated Tim Burton as a kid too. Because he had nothing on Don Bluth. That guy is a freaking genius. Land Before Time, All Dog Go to Heaven, An American Tail, Titan: AE. Those are great kids films. Tim Burton can get bent.
Thank you so much, anon. I scrolled down so I could write almost exactly what you said. I even had my Hot Topic comment planned, and when I read yours I laughed out loud in surprise. I can’t say I hate Mr. Burton, because Edward Scissorhands was actually pretty good, as it had some nice social commentary, but he has become one of the most predictable directors in existence. If you could somehow combine him with Nicholas Cage, you would have created a universe defined by repetition, unoriginality, and inanity.
So much hate for TB … wow. Yeah he does keep doing the same sort of thing over and over again. What would you call his style. I know … dark faery tales. I wonder if its because he launched his career working for Disney. Yeah, I bet it is. As far as all of the Hot Topic comments go. I doubt that Hot Topic would represent, even a small portion of his annual revenue. I’m gonna watch this film – not because I expect it to be different from his other work, but because I expect it to be the same. But don’t worry, I’ll watch your movie too (as soon as its out).
yeah, tim burton peddles his crap year after year after year… but land before time never gets old. even after the eighteenth movie.
