Will We See X-MEN:FIRST CLASS go into Franchise mode

It has been a long time since we have heard anything regarding this new X-Men: First Class movie being written for FOX by Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz. We have a little update for you today that comes from producer Lauren Shuler Donner who produced the first three X-Men movies, and the upcoming Wolverine flick. So she knows exactly what is going on with the X-Men franchise, she is in the trenches and here is what she says about X-Men: First Class:

“It is the first class of Xavier’s school, way back when, so it’s young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that’ll be really fun. I think (the plan) is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world.

“And hopefully First Class will become its own franchise and we can follow them as they grow up.”

It is really no surprise that they would want to turn First Class into a franchise, it is a great and fresh starting point for the X-Men franchise and one I wouldn’t mind seeing developed as long as it’s good. I wonder if it will end up being something along the same lines as the X-Men: Evolution cartoon. I just don’t think they will go completely off of the comic book for X-Men: First Class I think they will take the opportunity to build the film up for a younger audience. Whatever the case is Fox needs to buckle down and finally put together an incredible X-Men movie. Could this be it? I hope so, but most likely not. What do you think?

People to keep away from this movie brian singer, he got some of the action right(especially in 2) but he had the character dynamics all wrong. It’s like he focused on wolverine, scott and jean and left the rest alone.

Brett ratner he got he powers right, just well how do you kill off 3 first stringers(okay technically they are 3 of the people who get killed of the most in the damn comic books but still, your first movie how do you get to kill folks off all willy nilly)

Uwe Boll there should be a ninja assassination squad charged with nothing more then taking him out if he gets anywhere near a marvel project

Joel Schumacher as evidence I present batman forever and batman and robin. Oh and I believe superman IV the quest for peace.

Past that I hope they actually make it the real first class, not just beast, jean and scott, but beast, jean, scott, bobby and (damn angel’s real first name escapes me right now). Make it the real first class for the reasons it was the first class and show exactly how bad ass they used to be.

Focused on Scott? In which movie? The first one where he was “the leader” except answered to practically everyone? The second one where they got rid of him for most of the movie, or the third one where they killed him off?

Yes, Virginia. There actually were X-Men before Wolverine. Honest.

I agree. Scott wasn’t focused on at all during any of the movies, except when he had that nervous breakdown with Logan aobut Jean’s “death”. Honestly, I think the whole first class thing is overdoing it. I’m a big fan of the X-Men, but seriously, leave the tangents and spin-off volumjes to the comics themselves.
And Angel’s name is Warren Worthington III, for those who are interested.

PRIMALDATA is idiot, who cant spell. Honestly i think Brian Singer did a shit job on both films he did. And brett ratner did an ok job but nothing past that.

I have to Agree with mcgee some of the cast was really good but the films could have been sooo much better. Brian singer messed it up i dont think he is a good director at all, in fact his view on X-men is screwd up but i wont get into that.

Just give me a proper reboot, like Batman begins, an I will be a happy camper, near the rocket launcher.
