Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Epilogue will be show with the Original Cast

Here is a bit of interesting Harry Potter news that you might be interested in. As you know this July ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ will hit theaters. And right now as I write this Warner Bros. is currently filming the final installment of of the Harry Potter series ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ which is being separated in to two films.

It was reveled today that the last movie will include a final epilogue, where the original cast members will appear older than you have ever seen them before. Producer David Heyman confirms this by saying that they are going to shoot it. MTV reports:

Rowling wrote a flash-forward ending to “The Deathly Hallows” that shows where the characters end up as they grow older. Heyman also indicated that the original Hogwarts actors would be filling those roles for the sequence, rather than being replaced by older lookalikes.

I am glad they are going to use the original actors in the final scene. With the wonders of make up and digital effects it’s not like they wont be able to pull it off. All these actors put their freaking childhood lives into these films it is only right that they get to close it out properly. Am am very excited to see how this story come to an end.

I hated the last book, i felt it was a poor showing on the Authors part to take characters that we have come to love over the years and round thier lives out in such a poor showing. I felt there was death where it wasn’t needed and then poorly explained, i dislike authors who kill characters just for shock value where it holds no real sway on the story and does not progress the plot. In the case of three seperate characters, their deaths weren’t even properly explained, or elaborated on and all it did was remove some of the excessive baggage the author had created for herself.

and the whole ‘epilogue’ bullshit that was the FF into the future, a stupid bow tie on top of a messy ending to what started out as a strong series. Shows greed on the part of an author can ruin just about anything.

    /endrant.

Thats a great little rant Shelle. I really don’t have an opinion on if it was good or not because I have not read the book. But I will take your word for it.

Shelle is lame. What did you want JKR to do? I felt like everything I read in the last book took me through exactly what happened scene by scene. Sometimes people die when they are fighting in a battle and there isn’t anyone around to explain exactly how or why, but I thought it was explained very well. And I appreciated the ending wrap-up. Was the author supposed to take us through 7 books, years of the characters lives, and just drop us? I don’t think so. I felt so sad at the end of the series that it was over because I loved it so much, but felt that I could really be at peace because the characters I cared about were where they should be.

Anyway, thanks for the post Venkman. I’m really excited for the rest of the films, and I think it’s really cool what they are doing with the ending.
