I think part of what works for them is the simplicity of them. With extensive CGI the acting and writing has to be exemplary to not be overwhelmed by the CGI. GO! ok... that's out of my system. The animated turtle movie design was beautiful but the story was flat. the earlier live action turtle movies lost all their flavor after the 1st movie. Actually looking forward to this new TMNT flick now. GO NINJA! GO NINJA! GO!
