the first time i saw the theatrical trailer, i was dumbstruck. upon my second viewing, i immediately noticed that the lens flares were everywhere. that, combined with the bright, white bridge left me afraid that this was a michael bay-isation of the star trek universe, and not the reboot i was hoping for. now that i've heard his explanation, i'm a little-less scared, but definitely more anxious to see this film.

I LOVED the film! It was amazing in every way except one. I found the lens flares to be a bit overdone. I get what Abrahms is saying, but he puts it in a lot of his projects MI3 had a lot of lens flares also.

I honestly did not like that he used so many flares in Star Trek. I really didn't see the need for that many. But...Its still a great film and EVERYONE should go see it.

I love what I have seen in terms of its use in this movie, but I really cannot stand the way it is used in 'Fringe'. There are moments where they just get in the way of what is going on in that show.
