Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 3D Sequence Blows people away
Until recently I forgot that Disney was going to take its animated classic film ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and give it the 3D treatment. They have taken the original computer files of the film and completly re-rendered them upconverting it to Digital 3D. I wasn’t quite sure how this would turn out, I thought perhaps it wouldn’t really work.
Disney premiered the opening sequence of the film with Belle going around town singing her heart out. Our friends Peter at /film says, “It blew me away. The best way I can put it is that Beauty and the Beast looked new again. I’m not a huge supporter of 3D, so don’t take this as me just drinking the kool aid being served at this exhibitor convention.”
Then Alex at firstshowing had this to say: “I was impressed, as it’s hard to think of how anyone can turn a hand-drawn 2D animated movie into 3D, but they did it. And they pulled it off. It was absolutely wonderful watching that scene play out and seeing the lush 2D drawings come to life. I’m not normally a guy to say 3D really looks that good, but this time it did.”
Sound like they pulled off something amazing here and I can’t wait to see it for myself!
