Rupert Grint sheds his Ron Weasley persona in this CHERRYBOMB Teaser Trailer

Rupert Grint who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films is breaking out of his lovable goofy guy roles into more of the hardcore ‘R’ rated action. In this new film Cherrybomb he takes on the role of a rebellious teenager diving into everything from sex to drug use. Surprisingly he really looks like he fits the part of the bad boy.

Cherry Bomb follows teenagers Luke (Sheehan), Malachy (Grint), and Michelle (Nixon) as they embark on a wild weekend of drinking, drugs, shop-lifting and stealing cars. But what starts out as a game turns deadly serious when the three discover that they can’t get off the wild ride they’ve set in motion.

    I’m loving it! I cannot wait to see that movie now, even though the trailer was kind of vague… I think it’ll be a great break from Harry Potter, which is ideal.

    Looks pretty rough and tumble to me. Slicking his hair back in the style of The Outsiders seems like it might be a proper career move for Mr. Grint. I’m intrigued.
