THE HURT LOCKER Movie Trailer is a Must Watch
The Hurt Locker looks awesomely intense! I am really looking forward to finally being able to see this movie. It just looks like an all around great film. I love a good military war film, I have always been fascinated by what our military does for us, the sacrifices they make. To see these events brought to life on the bi screen is awe inspiring. It has also been getting some incredible reviews for example:
Film School Rejects says: In a very real sense, this movie is the first of its kind. The first boots-on-the-ground Iraq War film. It immediately places the audience in the dusty streets of Baghdad and refuses to let anyone leave until the end. What the film does most effectively – as a credit to the brilliant screenwriting of Mark Boal, whose experiences while embedded as a journalist in Iraq have shaped the story with authenticity – is to force the audience to feel the intense, exhaustive duty of existing in a foreign environment and waking up every morning with the very real possibility of being gunned down or being turned into human shrapnel by a relentless enemy. Complementing this, director Katherine Bigelow’s vision paired with Barry Ackroyd’s cinematography truly embeds the audience as the fourth man in the Humvee with the soldiers.
The Hurt Locker is a riveting and suspenseful portrait of the elite members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) squad, soldiers who volunteer to challenge the odds and save lives in one of the world’s most dangerous jobs. Three EOD members battle insurgents and each other as they seek out and disarm deadly bombs in a thrilling race against time. A heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat look at the effects of combat and danger on the human psyche, The Hurt Locker, meaning a place of ultimate pain, is based on the first-hand observations of journalist and screenwriter Mark Boal, who was embedded with a special bomb unit in Iraq. It is a gripping portrayal of real-life sacrifice and heroism and a layered, probing study of the soul-numbing rigors and potent allure of the modern battlefield.

Cant wait!!
Ok so not to burst your bubble but I am an EOD technician who spent 9 years active military and must say I have seen this already and it was absolutely messed up. There is so so so much wrong with the movie that I just do not know where to start. If this is based on a real person the man would have been releaved of command of his team not glorified as he is and sent back for another tour. If you watch this please ensure that your common sense is turned off or you will not enjoy the movie. Almost nothing he does a real technician would ever get caught dead doing.
It’s called fiction EOD Guy. That’s what makes it an interesting story isn’t it? That the character does things that the average person in his position wouldn’t.
