Here is Fox’s response to the leaked Wolverine movie situation:
“Last night, a stolen, incomplete and early version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was posted illegally on websites. It was without many effects and had missing scenes and temporary sound and music. We immediately contacted the appropriate legal authorities and had it removed. We forensically mark our content so we can identify sources that make it available or download it.
The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law – the courts have handed down significant criminal sentences for such acts and the last person who committed such a crime is still in jail.
The FBI and the MPAA also are actively investigating this crime. We are encouraged by the support of fansites condemning piracy and this illegal posting and pointing out that such theft undermines the enormous efforts of the filmmakers and actors, and above all, hurts the fans of the film.”

Yes it’s true folks. This is one hell of a major security breach a month before the movie is supposed to come out. The work-print copy that has leaked is supposed to be a high-quality, almost full-length version of the film, with some unfinished special effects. According to sources at the studio here are some things you should know about the leaked copy that is floating around online:
- It is not the final cut of the film
- Scenes missing from the film are the one they most recently shot with Ryan Renolds as Deadpool
- It comes from an early test-screening cut of the film and there could be big difference in plot points between this bootleg and the actual theatrical release.
- The special effects are not finished therefore they will suck. The final film is still being polished.
I myself have not seen the film, and I wont go looking for this bootleg copy either. As much as I think the movie is going disapoint me, I still want to see the final fully complete copy on the big screen. Plus there were a lot of people that put a ton of hard work into the making of the film, and out of respect to them all of us here at GeekTyrant will not watch the bootleg Wolverine film. It really sucks that the movie leaked out like this. it is safe to say FOX is pissed off.
A friend of mine over in Toronto has seen it: he says the final fight sequence is the most “noticeable” unfinished part of the film – bad bluescreen halos, wires still present in shots and unfinished CGI sequences
Wow, kinda thought and hoped this would turn out to an April Fool’s thing. Guess not. Can’t wait to see the finished film in May!
I’m kinda glad you know? Fox should feel what its like to have something stolen from them right from under their noses – ummm gee – WATCHMEN MUCH!?!?
you know what? if the movie will suck, is better to see the least sucking version that the worst version. I will wait better.

I dont know….yes it sucks that it was stolen but it can also be a good thing if the “workprint” is good and the person wants to see it in Theatrical Glory!
Yes..I saw it, and it has only made me want to see it on the big screen with the special effects. Better than any of the X-Men movies and just plain old great story telling. I’m looking forward to seeing it in the movies!!!

Ive already seen the bootleg twice, and in my opinion, the movie was still pretty good, despite all of the missing effects, and scenes. The movie’s highest point: the one scene with Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson (before all of the alterations) Thank god Fox said theres more scenes with him in the theatrical. and the Movies lowest point: What they did to deadpool at the end. All of the rumors that Started with the Deadpool action Figure are true, and what they did was just……. absolutely Discusting. You’ll just have to see for yourself. But the movie overall was still Pretty good. Im definitely going to see it in theatres on the midnight release.
i hope the people who leaked this movie get caught because what they did was ruin the movie for alot of fans and also braught out all the controversy towards Deadpool. ima big deadpool fan and when i heard ryan reynolds was going to do it i was glad that they got an actor who can pull out the funny side of deadpool. But when i heard about the blades and lazer vision, i got pretty upset. Even though they wanna make a good movie they should atleast stick to the characters.
