Disneylands STAR TOURS is getting a Overhaul

This is some pretty cool news! If any of you have been to Disneyland in your life then I assume you have all been on the classic Star Wars ride Star Tours. This was one of my favorite rides as a kid! This was the one opportunity we had, and it was the closest we could ever get to actually have our own Star Wars adventure, and I loved that! Believe it or not that ride opened up in 1987. It is now a ride a Disneyland that you don’t even have to wait in line for to get in because it’s pretty old school. Technology has come so far since then and rides have just gotten better and better leaving Star Tours still sitting in 1987. I don’t know if you have been on it recently but damn, the poor thing seems like it is ready to fall apart! It shakes so violently now when making the hard end turns. I like to imagine it is what the Millennium Falcon was like in the Star Wars movie. Sadly Star Tours has turned into a bucket of bolts. But not for long. The ride is getting an overhaul!
That’s right folks! Star Tours is getting a much needed update. Apparently it will be a reboot of the same ride, and that they may possibly add a 3D element to it. They are currently in production on this in West Hollywood at the Lodestar production stage. Word on the street is we will see Boba Fett, Admiral Ackbar, a Tusken Raider, and even some Jawas. C3PO himself Anthony Daniels will be filming sometime this week.
The Star Tours reboot will include characters from the Star War prequel along with several other aliens from the original Star War Trilogy. Hopefully these wont include Jarjar Binks. In the action sequence, the Star Tours vehicle is now going to be chased by Boba Fett. C3PO and R2-D2 are still the hosts. Admiral Ackbar holographically communicates with the Star Tours vehicle. Right now they’re shooting mostly green screen footage, as it is the middle part of the production timeline.
I have no idea when this new ride will launch but ‘Ill be looking forward to it. What about the rest of you?

i’m so excited for this…this has been my favorite ride since I was a little kid!
YES!!! I was thinking the same thing last week REALLY bumpy
Well i would be exited, but i’m living in Utah danget!!!
I remember when there was talk around the release of the Special Editions that the Tours was supposed to get a Makeover, then again around the time that episode one was released. I’ll see it when I believe it this time round, but probably will only be disappointed to find Lucas and the Goiter have found yet ANOTHER way to take a dump on my childhood…

Ditto what Matt said. And I wish they would bring the “tourism” posters back in the shop …
