SILENT HILL 2 Movie is Happening and It has a Director

picture-24

How in the hell did this slip under my radar! It looks like a sequel to the horror adapted video game ‘Silent Hill’ is going to get made. I am a huge fan of the video game, and I thought the movie did a pretty damn good job bringing that nightmare from hell to life. I hoped they would do a sequel, and I heard nothing regarding it actually happening until today.

Screenwriter Brett Easton Ellis, who recently wrote the awful film ‘The Informers’, gave an interview, and during the interview he was asked if director Roger Avery is still attached to develop a film called ‘Glamorama’ , Ellis reply’s with this:

“He’s going to be shooting Silent Hill 2. As far as ‘Glamorama’, it’s just very hard to get the money to make it.”

There is no other mention of it in the interview! That’s it, that’s all we get, but it is enough information to get me excited for a ‘Silent Hill 2′ film. Roger Avery is a pretty talented guy who has written films such as ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘The Rules of Attraction’, the first ‘Silent Hill’, and ‘Beowulf’.

They really nailed that insane atmosphere in the first movie. I can’t wait to see where they take this twisted hellish story next.  Did you like the first Silent Hill movie? Are you a fan of the game? Do you want to see a sequel?

Wow! This is great news. I am a huge fan of the video games and I totally loved the first movie. I'm looking forward to see this.

I thought Gans did a great job – and now I want it pushed into even more insane territory.

One of the few video games turned into a screenplay that I actually enjoyed. Some of the effects were a little lame though, especially with the CGI monsters (I kept thinking "they could do better with puppets!"). Let's hope for the same atmosphere with better effects!

Damn straight I want to see a sequel. Everybody has their own opinion of the movie. But I think it was one of the best horror movies I ever saw, let alone best game adaptation. I don't need gore or something off "Hostel" but this movie/game had a incredible storyline and the way it ended is a okay ending but some people weren't happy with it and that's because it screams for a sequel to happen, at least to me because I played the games. So James goes looking for her again and gets a letter or something. I wonder how big the budget will be it's been almost 3 years, I gave up on the games. They're kind of crap now, but if they could have horrifying monsters besides a moving killer wheelchair I'll be so freakin' excited. I heard crap all if the film is going to be made. Who knows for sure? But I think they should have a lot on if it's going to be made or not by now if there's a supposed 2010 release date.
