Taylor Kitsch gets even More Excited for GAMBIT Spin-Off after he finds out Wolverine 2 is Happening

As you know by now Deadpool will get a spin off movie, and Wolverine will get his Japanese sequel. We are still waiting to see if FOX moves forward with a Gambit movie, but actor Taylor Kitsch is pretty excited about it. He recently gave an interview up at Cannes and it was during this interview that he heard for the first time that Wolverine was getting a sequel. The guy obviously does not read any movie bogs. But this news got him all pumped up about gambit and he went off saying:
“Man, good on Hugh for doing that to his body again. I hadn’t heard that was going to happen! You have my brain going now about what I’d love to do with Gambit!”
I wonder if he really has a say in what a Gambit movie will entail. the guy is a decent actor but he is not as big as Hugh Jackman or Ryan Reynolds. Even Jackman didn’t get to realize his vision for Wolverine! Kitsch goes on to say:
“I’m just excited to go deeper into Gambit. It’s a flattering thing when people say that the only shitty part about the character is we didn’t see enough of him. If that’s the case, bring it on. I want to go deep into Gambit. He has so many more colours to explore. I want to go dark with that cat. There are so many things I want people to see of him and he really is his own deal. In Wolverine he was very much moving the story along. If I can have some moments where you go deeper into Gambit’s back-story and why he was the way he was at that poker table that’s a fun thing to explore.”
I seriously doubt that FOX will let him go dark. It would be nice! But, they don’t seem to dwell on the dark side of comic book characters. He would like to bring on the action though.
“I have the tools now to do some larger fights and I’d be really excited to get a chance to do that, too. I have so many ideas in my mind right now!”
I’m just curious, what kind of tools is he talking about? I liked Gambit in the movie and I would love to see a decent spin-off movie. I am sure it is only a matter of time before we get the news that it will get made.
Anyone care to share their thoughts on the matter?

One of the few bright spots of "Wolverine," so I'd like to see more of it. FOX having control over the project makes me more cynical than I'd care to admit, though.
Fox has been so idiotic! I don't know what to think. I hope they make a decision that makes sense. Love to see a Gambit movie but the writing had better be top notch or it just be a waste. Get some fresh blood in there Fox. Don't be afraid to take a gamble!
I think Fox will mess it up….. again!
I don't care if Fox messes it up. I just came back from Origins last night, and the only decent part of the movie was Gambit. I'd watch a spin off just because it WAS a Gambit spin off. I'm such a fan of that character it's really ridiculous that his 10 minutes in the movie felt like the rest of the piece of crap was worth watching. I shoulda went to see Star Trek instead
I would love to see a Gambit spin-off, but I want the Gambit/Rogue story so it would have to be about 40 years after the new Wolverine story… which means this actor might be a little young. And that's ok with me. He was ok but his accent wasn't nearly strong enough. No, give me someone slightly more mature and Anna Paquin. She's matured enough that I think she'd still make a great Rogue.
I'd love to see a Gambit spin off, if only for how excited Taylor is over the whole thing. He's a great actor who deserves a chance to show us all what he can do. He was damn good as Gambit, a slightly dodgy accent but everything else was great. I'd love to see a Gambit spin-off focusing on the Guilds or something along those lines.
Or his affiliation with Sinister. ♥
I'd love to see a Gambit spin off, Taylor is so enthusiastic about it.
As for the age thing, I'm pretty sure in one of the comics he managed to heal himself using his kinetic ability, to stimulate his cells to heal or something. Just stretch the truth and say it makes him not age as well XD
You've got to show the Morlock Massacre if you do a Gambit movie! Its what made him what he was when he met up with the XMen.
There are also rumors(and have BEEN rumors for years) that Gambit had partaken the "Life" which is so important to the Guilds. The provider of this elixir is Candra, who is a herald of Apocolypse(kinda in the same way as Sinister who, he himself, has made himself immortal)…so there's a good chance that Gambit is either Immortal or ages VERY slowly.
I think Taylor did great, and it's awesome to see him just as excited as Ryan is about doing Deadpool. It's so much more satisfying when the actor truly enjoys playing the character, which is a big reason why I went to see Origins(Other than Gambit, of course. Rabid fangirl here). Hugh Jackman loves being Wolverine and as an X-Men fan, that's very refreshing!
I could hear the proper mumble of the Cajun accent very well(it's what I get for living in the deep South), though if he had added some of the "mon ami"s and other French phrases, it would have been PERFECT.
I agree with Vanessa above, I'd love to see something along the lines of the Guilds, or with Sinister(Ala Limited series, perhaps?). No matter what it is, I've been a fangirl for a while, and Remy was, indeed, my very first "crush" at 10 years old…and still remains as such, I'd be up for ANYTHING with more Gambit in it.
Anything but the Romy crap! It totally ruined him in the comics! Anyway it would be a *Gambit* movie, Rogue doesn't need to be anywhere *near* it! Paquin was horrendous as Rogue. Do you really want her anywhere near Remy?
HHAhahahaha….Sure let's give a complete nobody a franchise and on top of that lets give him Gambit….sure….why not…“I’m just excited to go deeper into Gambit"….he said this come on! Go in deeper they they didn't even scratched the surface….But it would be cool to see this guy as gambit againg……
More Gambit hell yaaaaa.
What about Summer Glau as logan’s clone X23.
Summer Galu would be perfect as X-23…I could totally see that.
On the topic of Gambit, we all know that this is a franchise and Fox will lose the rights if they don't churn one of these out every couple of years, so lets just get past that and move on.
I for one am just really excited to see Gamibt in his own movie, especially sice Taylor is so freaking HOT! He completely distracted me from the rest of Wolverine from the moment he entered to the moment he left…I'm pretty sure I have no idea what anyone else was saying for the (albiet small) amount of time that he was onscreen.
Plus the Morlock Massacre would be epic.
And ps…I hope you don't mean summer glau as x-23 in the gamit movie…that would just be weird
Come on Fox! Just do it!! I would love to see a Gambit movie! At the moment, it's TBD (to be decided) but I'm not 100% sure if that's right! Anyway, I would love to see Taylor reprise his role in a movie or sequel or something. I thought he was great in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He deserves his own movie. The Thieves Guild story arc isn't such a bad idea. I wouldn't mind seeing that. Anything with Gambit in is worth it!
