New TOMB RAIDER Movie Will be an Origin Story

Earlier this year Warner Bros was like “Hey! Were going to make another Tomb Raider movie! Isn’t that awesome!? Yes Lara Croft will be back in a reboot of the ‘Tomb Raider’ franchise. It will not resemble the previous movies, which would be the point of rebooting the character in the first place. In this next version Warner Bros wants to make it an origin story and will reinvent her love interest and villain. So does this mean we are going to get a younger Lara Croft? I would say yes. How young? I don’t know. The producer of the this new venture who also helped develop ‘Terminator Salvation’ Dan Lin had this to say:
“Really excited! Its a great origin story that were gonna tell a very character oriented, more realistic to the past Lara Croft movies. It is an origin story so it is a younger Lara Croft. It’s like Terminator (Salvation) it’s character driven action. For me the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little to0 action oriented, I want it to have action but character.”
Well if this guy thinks that Terminator Salvation was character driven then we are going to have some problems with this new Lara Croft movie. The first two Tomb Raider films were fun but still disappointing. It’s not like they have a lot to live up to in reviving the Tomb Raider franchise. So if it’s better than the original then awesome.

As a very huge Lara Croft fan (The latest game not withstanding – seriously, what the fuck was up with the end of that game? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR but i digress – moving on.) I can't stand either of these movies and i don't think I'm going to like any kind of "Origin" (Hey lets jump on the Marvel bandwagon and slap the word Origin in front of a movie and WHAM! We have an instant sucess!! it works for those fuckers over at Fox – *clears throat* again, i digress.) movie, considering they royally fucked up "Normal" Croft. Idjits.

id like an origin story to cover those immense tubes that croft has. and then id like to cover them…..humph (insert motorboat sound)
Why not use computers to make Jolie look younger? They do it all the time.
I'm okay with a younger Lara Croft Tomb Raider. While we're at it, why don't we also bring back Relic Hunter, and get somebody like Kelly Hu, Smith Cho, Nia Peeples, Lucy Liu, to replace Tia Carrere who quit the series after only three seasons?

A younger Lara Croft makes sense if a orgin movie is to made, but that would also mean a huge role for her mentor Werner Von Croy and why "Lady Croft" became so lethal. If they do it right along with a great cast and an excellent script it should be an awesome movie….maybe J.J. Abrams should direct it? Alias was a great thrill ride, imagine what he could do with Tomb Raider!
Nice language. Not really. I personally thought the ending for Tomb Raider Unnderworld was better than it could have been. Lara could have died, left behind by Amanda in the far reaches of the earth, and Natla could have survived to fight another day and kill more people. You obviously have a closed mind incapable of perceiving the positive side of various circumstances.
