McG’s Jet-Black TERMINATOR SALVATION Ending That you Wont See

McG has recently come out and said that the ending for Terminator salvation is going to spark a debate among people, and that it actually might piss some people off. There is no way it is as shocking as the original ending that he had planned.
I don’t know if you remember this or not, but early on in the Terminator Salvation production the ending of the film leaked out online. Well, what ended up leaking out is only part of that ending. The original ending that McG describes here just floored me. It is insane. Here is what he say’s:
That was at a time when there was a very dark ending. There was a great irony in the way this film shook down. There was this leak that Connor dies and they put Connor’s face on top of the machine body of Marcus. Everybody went, “Booooooo, what’s that?” That’s half of [the actual original ending]. We had a jet-black ending. Connor dies, we’re in a room with all the people we care about. You take Connor’s likeness, you put it on the living machine of Marcus. He sits up, now looking like Christian Bale, takes a gun, kills Kate, kills Kyle, kills Star, kills everybody, eyes flare red, [snaps]the end.
Wow. That is just insane. I honestly still don’t know what to think about it. That would have changed everything! What a downer of an ending. But, he didn’t go with it. McG goes on to say that he is not sure if he will even put in in the DVD special features.
OK gang, rant with me hear!

i love it!!! Maybe I've watched too much happy shit but I want more bleak endings to movies… THis would be awesome!!
Awesome?
I get wanting to see something different and wanting a bleak ending… but not with Terminator, please. I think I would have been pissed had he kept the original ending.
Ugh, I wonder what the new ending will be like. Dang it.
Sounds like that would have been a stunning ending, but no studio would have allowed him to do it I suspect. He should get it on the DVD though, since that is what DVD is for, though Bale has made it clear he does not believe in those things.
this would've been the ultimate ending to an amazing saga in my opinion. i would've been so happy to finally see a movie where the ending was the "villain" coming out on top. which if this is the way the future would be we all know that the human race would NOT survive it.
argue all you want, this would've been perfect. i hope to see it on the DVD release, I'll buy a collector's edition just to see this one scene.
DAMN YOU FOR TAKING IT OUT!
That ending would negate the entire cannon of films then, if he kills Kyle Reese. I mean it would be an alternate future then right, machines win T1 & T2 never happened then. Connor dying and being a machine is a bit of an obvious twist.
The thing is, with the amount of Paradox they have already had in the Terminator movies. T1 showing that the original genesis of the story is the fact that reese has to be sent back in time. But then you have T2 where they send a better terminator, more advanced and still can't get the job done. T3 while lousy in story(seriously, a terminator who could do the complex machine thing yet still loses to a T1) I mean it kinda gave the opening to McG to do a darker tale.
As far as killing John Connor, Reese and everyone else can't be done if you want a sequel(which you know the studio wants a sequel), now we can continue on in the future maybe with a john connor looking terminator, maybe with more Marcus like terminators who think their human and want to fight against sky net. But they're gonna want sequels and even horror movies don't have completely dark endings.
i am all for bleak and edgy, but lets face it… that original ending planned was obviously a crappy attempt to be "shocking" by means of doing something ridiculously "out of left field" and IMO mindless and insulting… oooooh aaaah john becomes terminator assassin weeee. (seriously is that the best shock ending you could come up with?) Not to mention that if kyle reese DOESNT get sent back in time that john would never be born… unless there are multiple realities… and then it becomes an episode of VOYAGER.
give us what we want from this prequel/sequel… we want the same thing that george lucas withheld from us in star wars episode 2 and 3… the actual "clone wars"… from terminator we want the story of where the other movies originated (thus prequel) and where it is going… and we want the damn war between "man and machine" not a bookended piece but the ACTUAL war… not the very beginning and very end… but the WHOLE war and nothing but the war so help you god… and if that means 3 movies to do it then thats fine… but dont just screw the fans over just because no1 is buying T1 and T2 merchandise anymore (notice i didnt mention T3.. damn i just did oh well). and its time to milk a little more out of the fanbase… give us a cliffhanger (sure) …but dont leave us hanging (not cool).
in short i want a kick ass action movie that (for 1. ties into the 1st movie, and 2.) seeds the idea of at least 1 more sequel (attention studio execs and director: this is the way your gonna get my money) of kick ass action and death before a climactic ending that is worth paying for…
skynet: "i'll be back…"
conner: "no you wont" click..(nukes go off destroying machines by way of electro magnetic pulse)
THE END
conner to reese: "they've sent a terminator back in time to kill my mother before i was born… i want you to go back and save her… this is what she looks like."
reese: "im so gonna hit that"
boooooooo
THAT would have been awesome–the movie ending of the year, no doubt.
okay, i completely agree with curt mowery (and loved the voyager comment, amazing show but got so mind-boggingly f*cked UP). but everybody, go back and rewatch the movies. they consistently mention stuff that happens around 2030, this one took place in 2018 – unfortunately, there HAS to be a sequel but *crosses fingers* please please please NOT with Christian Bale!
