The Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith ride again!

No, Elizabeth Sladen isn’t going to be coming back to the TARDIS. The TARDIS is going to be coming to Sarah Jane.
Tennant will be returning as the Doctor over two episodes of a new 12-part series of the CBBC show, which starts in September. Russell T. Davies, executive producer of both Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures said that this will not be a cameo, but a full on appearance.
Davies also said:
“Viewers thought they may have to wait until November for the next full episode of Doctor Who, but this is an extra special treat. “
And it’s not just a cameo from David.
“This is a full-on appearance for the Doctor as he and Sarah Jane face their biggest threat ever.”
So basically we get an extra story from David Tennant as The Doctor. Sounds good to me.
However, this article also has some bittersweet news….
Doctor Who may be heading for the big screen after a spokeswoman for BBC Films confirmed that “a script is in development”. BBC entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba said there were no guarantees a film would be made and that, if the project went into full production, a release would be a long time away.
You and I both know what this means. We aren’t going to see David Tennant up on the big screen behind the controls of the TARDIS – it will be Matt Smith. Or whoever takes over for him if his ratings start to go the way of Colin Baker (Sorry Colin!)
At first I thought that the BBC would want Tennant on the screen. He is arguably one of the most popular Doctors ever to travel through space and time. The BBC however will go with Matt Smith and hope that the name Doctor Who is enough to get by.

Oh… Sarah Jane. Your smile, your eyes, your Andy Pandy overalls…
That's superb! I knew David Tennant was a classy enough guy to not just abandon the franchise.
In fact, imagine this: TWO Doctors functioning simultaneously in different series? What are the possibilities?
Is it just me, or is the font in this article itty bitty? Sorry to nitpick!
I presume that the show David Tennant will be appearing in is the Sarah Jane Adventures? I don't normally watch it, but for an extra Doctor fix i would most certainly tune in.
As for a movie, i refuse to judge what kind of Doctor Matt Smith is going to be until i get to see him myself, and give him some time to grow into the role a little, i cried when Christopher Eccleston left the Whoverse and was mad at David Tennant for about 15 (whole) minutes before i got over it and fell in love with him, I'm more than willing to give Matt Smith this same chance
As much as I love David Tennant (and I do… I really do) I don't like the idea of him being on SJA… It's a small show, which will get ratings for the two episodes he's in and then everyone will turn around and bash it saying there should be more David. He just CAN'T do too much in it. It's a spin off, and yea often spin-off's feature guest appearances, but seriously? It's a kids show. And it's David Tennant. AND it's Sarah Jane's time to shine, and I really don't like the idea of this….
I know the Ten fans will shoot me down but I just can't accept this. I love SJA, but I'm not impressed.
As far as Matt Smith is concerned, I love him in other things, but I'm reserving judgment as for how he will be as The Doctor (although I do hold high hopes for him). A movie? I wouldn't like it even if it was Tennant. Ok, yes I would see it, it's in my nature for these things, but It's a TV SHOW! It's meant to be like that. The Paul McGann movie in 1996/97 was great yea, but it wasn't made into an incredibly big deal as this will be.
I'm glad Dr Who has this whole new fan base but this sort of catering to it really isn't doing it for me. I'm probably the only person who is annoyed at this but hey, I can have my say right?
