Bilbo Baggins Casting Announcement for THE HOBBIT to Come in 2 Weeks

So how close are we until we hear who has been officially cast as Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson and Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘The Hobbit’? According to Del Toro, we may get an announcement in two weeks! The last I heard, they were down to four actors who might play the part. Now it sounds like they have narrowed it down to one. Here is what Del Toro told MTV when they asked him about it.
“We are very close right now to signing one name… you know I would love to spill every bean.”
He was then asked, if he has been in discussions with the actor they want:
“Not yet. Not yet… technically.”
This pretty much means they have been talking to the actors reps. And they haven’t spoken to him directly yet. Then he tells us, that he thinks they will make the big reveal in a couple of weeks.
“I think if we’re lucky, all of us… by the way! I hate keeping secrets!”
So I hope to hear something regarding the casting in the next couple of weeks. My guess has always been that, they will bring in James McAvoy to fill the role. I will be shocked if he isn’t brought on. At the same time, it will be even more exciting, and more of a shock if it’s not. We will let you know who is cast as soon as it breaks! So while we are waiting for the Bilbo casting news, who do you want to see cast as the character?

McAvoy really? I guess I'm not that huge a fan.. plus is it really his cup of tea.. 4 years of filming is a lot of other Oscar worthy movies for him… wouldnt be surprised if Martin Freedman, Daniel Radcliff or Rupert Grint got a screen test actually…
I also guess Freeman will make a huge chance. Or at least I'll hope that.
Not the James I would pick. I'd love to see James Dodd (JOHANN KRAUSS in Hellboy II) as Bilbo. Just my thoughts…IMHO.
I'm pro Freeman at the moment- I think McAvoy is too skiny to play a hobbit- though he is a great actor…
