Trailer for a Gritty Indie Sci-Fi Film Called OFFLINE
Now here is a sci-film that I can’t wait to see! It is an indie sci-fi movie called ‘Offline’ from first time director Matthew Santoro, who worked in visual effects before he made this movie. If you were impressed with ‘Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem’ and ‘Rise of the Silver Surfer’, this is the guy who worked on those films. This movie he made looks awesome. I love indie sci-fi films. These guys are working with very low budgets, and they have to get very creative in the way they do things to tell their story. This is how the great sci-fi films of the past were made. The movie looks very dark and gritty. I am pretty excited for this one.
Here is the trailer and below is the story synopsis from the film’s website.
The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating
In this future, the world is dying a slow and ugly death. In an effort to cope or perhaps out of pure denial, humanity has become increasingly obsessed with mass media.
The Internet has evolved into an all-consuming visceral experience where every one’s perception of the world around them is fully customized. The brown smog in the sky can be easily ignored when a beautiful sunset is projected through your optic nerve, courtesy of the Naneuron Corporation.
But like all systems there are glitches. Someone or something is disrupting the feed; a Ghost in the machine. A group of extremists have risen up, led by young man named Maro. Defiant and charismatic, he has seemingly endless promise until he unexpectedly surrenders.
All enemies of the state are processed for reprogramming. Those like Maro who are physically and mentally gifted enough are transformed into counter-terrorism soldiers. His memories are erased. His body is enhanced. His humanity is destroyed. Maro has become the perfect weapon.
Until he begins communicating with the glitches, hearing whispers that lead him on a journey through the depths of his own subconscious. Trapped in the midst of a hellish nightmare, he must find a way to regain his identity and take down the system once and for all. But at what price comes freedom?
WHEN A MAN?S MIND BECOMES ONE WITH A MACHINE? WHAT HAPPENS TO HIS SOUL?
Thanks to reader delbert for the tip!

Wow The spirit of indie Sci Fi is a alive and kicking in this film!! What with Moon, Sleep Dealer, and Hunter Prey, we have so much to show how independent Sci Fi film makers are making such fantastic visions of our possible futures tangible and present today, without residing to rubbish like Terminator : Salvation block busters that have nothing to say except how much money can we make out of this with sequels , toys, blah blah blah. Thanks guys for showing this glimmer of hope that Sci Fi is ALIVE!!!!!
Cheers

SCI FI is definitely Alive with this one and the aforementioned by Joe Diano. I love how creative a mind gets when it is confined within boundries of budget and raw skill. This what SCI FI is all about and I can't very much wait for this one to come out. Cheers!
the trailer reminds me of something, but it's so new and different i can't place my finger on exactly what – and that's exactly what sci-fi/hollywood etc. needs right about now. This looks fucking amazing. two thumbs way up and i can't fucking wait!
