Movie Review: THE HANGOVER Best Comedy of the Year

picture-6

It’s about time we got a great comedy this year! We have seen silly little comedies here and there, that make you chuckle and laugh occasionally. But there really hasn’t been anything yet, that has the ability to get the audience laughing throughout the whole film. ‘The Hangover’ is this movie. It is rare to see a smart comedy get made. Not only does it make you laugh, but the story is original, and the characters we are introduced to are actually interesting.

The film is instantly added to one of the best movies that take place in Las Vegas. The raunchy comedy centers around three groomsmen. Each one of them is dealing with certain issues in their lives, and it seems like they need a much needed break. They plan an always classic trip to Vegas for their buddies bachelor party, and everything is looking like it’s gonna be a blast. That is until they wake up the next morning, and can’t remember a damn thing about what happened the night before. And in the process of their drunken misadventures, they managed to loose the groom! This takes them on the strangest journey of their lives.

These poor bastards experience one crazy event after another. From a tiger in their hotel bathroom, to a naked Asian dude jumping out of the trunk of their car, who beats them with a crowbar. That’s a scene you won’t forget. I love the fact that the movie trailer pretty much only gives the audience the set up for the film. The best parts of the movie are a complete surprise and really catch you off guard.

As you have seen in the trailer, the three groomsmen are left with a baby, that they have to carry around. I wouldn’t be surprised if some type of organization calls a boycott on the movie for the way that baby was treated in the film. From the sound of the audience, I would have to say that it was the most uncomfortable part of the movie. And that was the point! There are several scenes in the movie that make the audience uncomfortable. But it’s all part of the comedic elements. You’ll see what I mean when you watch the movie.

Everyone in the film was hilarious! Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zack Galifianakis were awesome. But it’s Galifianakis who stole the show. His character was so awkward and so original, that there is no way you can watch him and not laugh. Even when he isn’t saying anything! It is the expressions on his face and the little subtle comments that he makes in passing, that are the gold of the movie.

The Hangover is by far the best comedy this year. It’s going to be very hard to top, because these guys set the bar very high. I just don’t see anything coming out that will be able to out-comedy this film. If you can handle the the awkward, uncomfortable, raunchy comedies, then this is a movie you are going to really enjoy. So make sure to check it out!

Now tell me what you thought of it!
