Why!? DONNIE DARKO 3 is in Development

Most of us Donnie Darko fans were shocked and appalled when we learned that FOX was going to make a sequel to the original cult classic film Donnie Darko. The strait to DVD was called ‘S. Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale’ Without the Donnie. The story picks up seven years after the first film when little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey are now 18 and on a roadtrip to Los Angeles when they start seeing bizarre visions of rabbit costumes. I never watched the movie because I didn’t see the point.
But now I am so not happy to tell you that FOX is going to make yet another Donnie Darko film. Thats right folks, it looks like we will see a Donnie Darko Part 3. Blood-disgusting reports that The studio is already in development.
This is what happens when people go out and spend money on watching these kinds of movies. If you saw the S. Darko film admit your guilt and tell me what you thought of it. Do we really need a third Darko film?

…WHY?
DEAR GOD WHY
Donnie Darko was alright at best. It never merited a sequel.
"alright at best"??? Someone didn't Get It.
It isn't that Darko did not merit a sequel– more like none was warranted. Big difference, Shaft.
i agree! why can't hollywood leave well enough alone!!! Donnie Darko was classic and perfect – then it pained me to try to watch the sequel! Kinda wish I didn't – well, actually didn't watch it the whole way through! But we do have the power to ignor this one and just pretend that they are not the money mongers that they really are – that they truly care more about the art and craft of movie making than money…but then the dream dies and the reality sets in. Oh, well. At least I have the original on DVD for all of eternity!
Donnie Darko is why I fell in love with Indies, it was something new and fresh "story" wise. I downloaded S. Darko out of curiosity only. They tried to put all the stuff that was cool from the first one in it, but story wise was awful.
In my opinion there are some films that just shouldn't have sequels like: Citizen Kane, United 93, and Donnie Darko.
I actually saw S.Darko out of a sense of morbid curiosity, and it was an uneven mess. Sure, there were some parts that were quite beautiful, and there were a couple of brilliant scenes and sequences. One sequence in particular would have made a really good short film. Some of the acting was quite good, especially Daveigh Chase's reprise of Samantha Darko. But there were also some horribly written and concieved sideplots that had truly atrocious actors trying to carry them. There's no reason for Fox to continue with this franchise, but there was no reason to continue The Crow either, but they kept making more anyway.
donnie darko 10/10 i watched s. darko 8/10 but a third one thats adrenaline rushing hopefully we will see donnie again and frank as well
Donnie Darko was brilliant so much mystery to it, S.Darko seemed to Answer it and gave the worse possible answers! Donnie darko the world was ment to end soon yet S.Darko is 18 years on. It seemed to answer that when ever someone gets saved by the time traveler it causes a chain of events which brings the end of the world and when the balance is put back all is well. Thats the S.Darko perspective I prefer the end of the world being a set date in Donnie Darko, how S.Darko should have been written was that Frankie went further in the past to visit Donnie. None of this 18 years on lark!!!!!! Also the story made no sense, " Donnie Likes To Draw" – Donnie never met frankie because he stopped himself being saved and never drew the frankie pictures! The writing SUCKED!
OMG!! I can't believe they're doing this again!! I just saw S. Darko, and it was amazing… to think – my dad used to beat me with a plank of wood to the head, and I was still able to understand such an intricate storyline!
Seriously though. What happened to character development, plot, decent cinematography, and directing above the standard of my pet chimpanzee (which by the way, is a wall-poster!). Everyone was depressed and serious, don't they ever show happiness, or anger, or love, hate, sadness (don't get depression and sadness confused), banter, excitement, passion!!
All the characters looked as though they'd had an enema of botox before each scene, and fed so many sedative pills that I almost fell asleep just by watching it! Another side affect of said pills was this inherent need for all the "actors"… wrong word really… to stare up at the sky for no reason!! OH MY GOD!! SHE'S BEEN HIT BY A CAR!! "where did it come from maaan? Oh dude look! A RAINBOW!!"
Fuck me sideways, I seriously thought the credits were my favourite part of the whole film! Donnie Darko is a brilliant film, there was no need for a sequel – especially not one focussing on a character who in the previous film only had a single line – "What's a fuck-arse?".
I feel I'd be doing the world a service if I mention that piratebay . org (no spaces) has a great copy of S. Darko in which this cash-cow, becomes merely a cow. A free cow! I never take pride, or condone stealing films from the internet – but in this case, I feel no remorse, in fact I'm bloody glad that I nicked it! After all, if they actually expect you to buy this piece of shit – then they're robbing you anyway! In fact! Fuck it! I am OWED money from fox. Barker and Rathbone can suck a fuck!
Dan
unlike you dum dums i liked it
s.darko was pretty good i thought, but a third movie is not needed
