Early DEADPOOL Concept Art for X-Men Origins Wolverine

Hey Gang! Thought you might be interested in seeing some Deadpool concept art from ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’. This was created by artist Phillip Boutte. He writes in his blog the following:
I liked this version of Deadpool and wish it had made it into the movie but it was very early on in development and the character’s face had to be seen
I think it’s a fun concept. I still would have liked to see a real Deadpool, but this would have been cool to see come to life in the movie. I think fans would have been much more receptive. At least we know we will get to see Deadpool in full costume in the new Spin-opff film being developed.
What do you all think of this Deadpool concept art?

Psst! Zartan, wrong movie.
HAHAHA…. nice!
could be worse, they coulda turned him into Baraka….oh poopy
well…i agree. It could be worse. But where are the scars? the mask? trademarks of deadpool! I mean, I could kind of see this being an early deadpool or something but still.
totally agree.
Is that Billy Zane???
Not good. Does look a lot like Zartan. I couldn't imagine Reynolds in that getup. I'm so sick of producers and agents having to pull this "get as much face time as possible" crap; its ruined films a lot of superhero films in the past. You either go full mask or none at all like they did in Wolverine which is still a hundred times better than this sketch.
I'm glad Ryan was in a red shirt, had the twin Katanas, and would never shut up. If he wore a red get up he would look better. I mean I guess the Frankenstien look for the first appearance can be forgiven if he is gonna be full costume in his spinoff. And yes I think the GI joe folks would have been talking to them, Zartan where are the dreadnaughts(his team were the dreadnaughts weren't they I forget been so long)
And I mean red get up in the concept art
i dont like it at all, if they want to please the fans, stick with the comic's style
It's horrible. Although, yes, it IS a design; it's bad. To be honest, they should have just gone with the full costume from the get-go. They really sunk low with Origins.
I understand trying to add realism and not putting people in tights but why can't they just slap a mask on this guy. Either way, I still think Ryan Reynolds is the best guy in Hollywood for the part, and I hope that it will be done correctly next time around.
Ha!
