E3 2009: HALO News and New Games Announced For XBox 360

As you know Halo 3: ODST has been being developed for awhile now. This is an expansion game for Halo 3 and it is the first time we will not play as Master Chief. We will be able to see this Halo Universe from several different perspectives instead of just the one which will be a great change of pace. This game will be released on September 22nd and I will be definitely grabbing myself a copy!
But the big new is that the next installment of the Halo game series has been teased! The game will be called HALO: REACH. We don’t really much more about it beyond the title but, multiplayer beta codes for Reach will come with your purchase of the Halo: ODST game. Reach is expected to come out sometime next year. I can’t wait to see what this game has to offer!
And here are the Exclusive Microsoft Video Game Titles that have been announced.
- Shadow Complex: An Xbox Live Arcade game from Epic
- Joy Ride: A cart-racing title from BigPark games that is free-to-play and features avatar support.
- Crackdown 2: RealTime Worlds is back for a sequel to this open-world game.
- Left4Dead 2: This zombie-slaying extravaganza is set in Louisiana and will be available on November 17th.
- Splinter Cell: Conviction: Releasing this fall.
- Forza Motorsport 3: Racing to a store near you this October.
- Halo: ODST: This FPS features new weapons and a “low-light vision mode.” The plot involves taking on the role of a variety of ODSTs. Look for it on September 22nd.
- Halo: Reach: This just-revealed project is scheduled for a 2010 release, but the Halo: ODST
- Alan Wake: This supernatural horror game will be out in Spring 2010.
contains a coupon for the beta of Reach’s multiplayer.
This all sound great! Can’t wait!

I've got to get an Xbox 360. I thought my console gaming days were over when I got rid of my original Xbox but all the news from E3 has me hooked once again. Besides the games you just listed I am very excited about the full body motion tracking camera that will be made available for the Xbox 360. This takes gaming beyond what you can do with the Nintendo Wii. The possibilities are amazing. Add to that the instant on 1080p movies, Facebook and Twitter functionality and future live TV, Xbox is edging closer to the "one device to rule them all" concept.
Reach was the name of one of the first hit planets according to the books, wonder if its a prequel?
