IT MIGHT GET LOUD Trailer with The Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White

My head might EXPLODE… seriously. The trailer for “It Might Get Loud” just blew me away.  The documentary by Davis Guggenheim, The Academy Award Winning Director of “An Inconvenient Truth” revolves around a day when Jimmy Page, Jack White, and The Edge first met and sat down together to share their stories, teach and play. If you’re a fan of one, all, or even none of them, as long as you love music, you’ll find this interesting.

At it’s core “It Might Get Loud” is a documentary about the guitar itself. It just so happens they capture it from the point of view of three generations of electric guitar virtuosos – The Edge (U2), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), and Jack White (The White Stripes).

The Edge explains his frustration with the instrument:

“I drive everyone crazy trying to get the sound that I hear in my head to come out of the speakers.”

If you play guitar (the instrument, not the controller) then you yourself probably share in his frustration. I know I do. There are SO MANY factors that can change the tone and sound of the guitar. Everything from: the type of wood they make each part of the guitar with, the magnet used in the pick up, the copper wire around the pickup, how tight they wrap that wire, the gauge of the strings, the amp’s tubes, the wattage of the amp, the speakers, the list goes on and on! And when you get into effect pedals, you open up a whole other UNIVERSE of possibilities. I could nerd out for pages without even getting into the technique of actually playing the guitar.

Jack White jokingly says of Page and The Edge:

“I plan on tricking both of these guys into teaching me all their tricks”

More like half jokingly. There’s no “tricking” involved here. “It Might Get Loud” tells the personal stories, in their own words,  and reveals how each developed his unique sound and style of playing favorite instruments, guitars both found and invented.  Concentrating on the artist’s musical rebellion, traveling with him to influential locations, provoking rare discussion as to how and why he writes and plays, this film lets you witness intimate moments and hear new music from each artist.

How unbelievably cool is that? If you’re looking for guys with real super powers, these guys are it. But what do you think? Is this something you’d go see?

The movie come out August 14th. I’m gonna mark my calender. Check out the Trailer below!

Right?! I never would of thought he'd grow up to be Asian either. He looks like Raiden from MOrtal Combat.

Yes! I can't see a downside to this pic! I knew you'd like this too. So much talent in one film, it's crazy.

I swear Jack White isn't human. There's no way, he's just too good. And Page and the Edge are just flat out legends. It's kinda cool because a lot of The White Stripes stuff is very Zepplin influenced. So I'm curious as to what kinda questions White has for Page, and vice versa.
