JAMES BOND 23 brings Frost/Nixon Writer Peter Morgan into the Club

I don’t know about you but I have been loving these new James Bond movies with Daniel Craig starring as 007 himself. They have been really fun action-packed slick looking thrill rides. We all knew a third movie was going to get made, so it’s no surprise that it is happening. What is interesting though is the guy they brought on board to write the film. He’s not really know for his action films, but he is a great screenwriter none-the-less.

MGM has hired Peter Morgan to join the original writing team Neal Purvis and Robert Wade who wrote the last two Bond films. This three-way writing team will take on the 23rd James Bond adventure.

Peter Mogran has written films such as ‘Frost/Nixon’, ‘The Last King of Scotland’, and ‘The Queen’. So the guy is obviously great at what he does. He will have a lot to add to the writing of the movie and leads me to believe that this next Bond film will end up being much better than the last two.

Producer Michael G. Wilson says:

“Peter, Neal and Robert are extraordinarily talented and we’re looking forward to working with the three of them,”

Daniel Craig is set to reprise his role as James Bond 007 in the film. It seems like he has been having a blast making the movies and will probably continue to star in them until his knees go out on him.

So there you have it, the longest running film franchise in history is getting even longer.

I'm really excited by this. Is anyone else thinking this could be the first Bond film nominated for a Best Original Screenplay Oscar?

I wish it was, but you know how the academy treats popcorn flicks……..

I don't know about Craig as Bond. Don't get me wrong I like the guy as an actor.(i.e. Layer Cake/Munich) He (Bond) is so moody and seems to hate what he does as the character, and I just don't think that is what James Bond is about. In the older films the character loved his work and the perks that went along with it(Cool Guns, Gadgets, and Beautiful Women of course), and that is what made me want to be him growing up. Craig some how makes me not want to be James Bond, he gets beaten up a lot, every chick he sleeps with dies and he has no gadgets(not to mention that scene in the Casino Royale with the rope and the chair…just disturbing! I just don't like the darker tone I guess because the plots are still so ridiculous, it just doesn't seem to fit. Glodeneye was the last Bond film that hollywood got right, in my opinion. It feels like "The New Bond" franchise is just ripping off Jason Bourne.
Is it me or James Bond just not fun anymore?
