Yes, I can deny that the prequels (especially TPM) did not meet your expectations. Because your expectations were TOO HIGH. Everyone's expectations were too high and unrealistic. The return of the most popular movie franchise of all time after a 16 year hiatus? No matter what film Lucas made, there would be tons of pissed off whiny and complaining fanboys like you.

I still think he made the transition when he slaughtered the Tusken Raider camp. But Padme's reaction to his confession softened something that should have been terrifying, like when he kills the "younglings". (Uggh, I can't believe I just wrote that)

Oddernod, that's the best idea I've heard regarding the prequels. But I think Anakin's switch to the dark side should've ocurred in the second movie. Keep in mind, he just becomes "dark", he doesn't physically become Vader (robot implants, respirator) until the third movie. I never liked how he made the complete transformation within (pretty much) the last hour of the entire trilogy.

I'll say this to my grave, Liam Neeson should have been Obi-Wan, and Ewan MacGregor should have been Anakin. Episode 1 should never have happened, and the AotC should have been the first film. Take the main storyline of the original 2D Cartoon Network Clone Wars for Episode 2. End on Revenge of The Sith, but go with the original story of Anakin suspecting Obi-Wan of an affair with Padme.

I can't imagine what that final fight would have looked like with Liam vs Ewan.

Still not sure how I should view George Lucas. One one hand, he brought us "Star Wars." On the other hand, he brought us "Star Wars." I am a die-hard fan of the franchise, but no one can deny that the most recent three films were nowhere near our expectations for them. Episode III wasn't terrible, but I'll never get past the casting decision that let Hayden Christansen portray one of the most well-known characters in all of science fiction.
