That’s right. This 80s Michael J. Fox classic is the next film that Warner Bros. is planning on remaking. Movie Hole reports
Warner Bros (who snagged the rights to the film series about five or six years ago) are currently out to writers, looking for the craftiest reinterpretation of Rod Daniels’ 1985 hit. They’re not quite certain ”which way they’re going to go”.
More than likely they will just regurgitate the same story of a teen underachiever who finds out he is part of a long line of werewolves that dates back centuries and with these new abilities becomes the most popular kid in school and hooks up with the girl of his dreams.As is typical in these Hollywood remakes don’t be surprised if it is cast entirely of young actors and actresses that look more at place in an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog then in any High School I have ever seen. Hell they will probably just cast Zac Efron or that Twilight guy. This is WB after all. That seems to be their method of casting.
I really loved the original Teen Wolf that starred Michael J Fox as a struggling High School student who uses his new “abilities” to be a star athlete and the most popular kid in school. The sequel wasnt bad either, starring Jason Bateman as Michael J. Fox’s cousin who similarly discovers he is from a long line of werewolves. Although I believe the sequel took place in college but it was the same basic story, replacing basketball with boxing.
No word yet on any official casting or on a director. I cant imagine this will be any good. Maybe this will be the one that surprises me but I am not holding my breath and I dont think you should either. Just expect another crappy remake of a great 80s film coming your way soon.
"that Twilight guy" is Robert Pattinson who has more talent than Zac Efron. Plus I don't think he'd take the role tbh, I mean a werewolf? how ironic would that be? I hope he wouldn't. I really hope they don't screw it up though. I love classic '80s movies.I still can't get over that they are trying to remake Footloose. As long as they don't try to redo Breakfast Club, Stand by Me, Better off Dead, Sixteen Candles, or any others like that…
It will be garbage, just like 90% of the remakes out there. No matter who they cast, no young actor can play that character like Fox or Bateman. Shia LeBouf would be the best candidate out of this crop, but still not a good choice.

They need to stop. There has got to be some up and coming writers out there that have an original idea for a story. Why does Hollywood insist on going with th “tried and true” method? All it does is leave us, the audience, wanting more; not just some crappy remake of something we love!!! You wanna remake a movie, try remaking some failures; xmen, superman, punisher…. Stop taking our beloved childhood memories and dropping a steamy deuce on them with your watered down teeny bopper garbage.
