Here’s our first look at Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger in Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Though his face is covered in the shadows, we see the iconic hat, striped sweater and glove.

I wasn’t excited for an Elm Street remake/reimagining/revamp/rerecord or whatever they want to call it… But I’m excited for Jackie Earle Haley! Warner Bros has also promised us another picture that should pop up later today. So we’ll keep you posted!

The film is directed by Samual Bayer and stars Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Rooney Mara, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy, Clancy Brown and Connie Britton. Warner Bros, New Line and Platinum Dunes are producing with a release date  projected for April 16th 2010. No Robert Englund and No Wes Craven this time! What do you think?
