JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE as the GREEN LANTERN???!

jtgreengreen-lantern

This is going to cause quite a stir! AICN received an unconfirmed rumor that Justin Timberlake has been at Leavesden Studios, suiting up as The Green Lantern in screen tests for Warner Bros. If true, this doesn’t mean he has the part just yet, but is being seriously considered.

Martin Campbell is adapting the classic DC Comic The Green Lantern, for the big screen. Lantern is set for a June 27th, 2011 theatrical release. Timberlake is now the latest name being thrown around as a possible Hal Jordan, joining the like of Bradley Cooper, Chris Pine and Nathan Fillion.

Though I certainly respect Timberlake as an artist, and I thoroughly enjoy his hilarious appearances on SNL, I don’t think he can pull off The Green Lantern. Not only are there people who more physically embody Hal, but more importantly there are way more qualified actors for this undertaking. Also, Timberlake’s speaking voice is waaaay too high for Green Lantern! We have to believe our hero is able to wield a ring of unworldly power! Hard to do when he sounds like your 12 year old cousin.

What are your thoughts? Can JT pull this off?

No disrespect to JT, but he is NOT The Green Lantern. After that killer fan trailer I figured we'd be hearing Nathan Fillion rumors.

I'll be the odd man out here, but I would be interested in seeing what he can do. I was never a fan of his music, but he seems to be a pretty multi talented dude. I'm gonna give him a chance.

I'm a huge Justin Timberlake fan, pretty much love everything he does. I don't think I want to see him as Green Lantern though. I'm very skeptical that this rumor has any truth to it.

Warner Brothers, This a major opportunity to redeem yourselves from the horrible mistakes of Christian Bale and Heath Ledger (may he rest in piece) Don't screw this one up

Question: What??????? Explain yourself. You didn't like Dark Knight? Ledger was brilliant in that, and say what you will about Bale, and the scratchy voice, he's the most bad ass Batman/Bruce Wayne we've had so far. I'm puzzled…
