Today the Walt Disney Twitter account confirmed the villainous Tron Legacy casting rumor is true regarding Michael Sheen.

@MSheenOnline Yes, Michael Sheen will have a role in Tron Legacy!

So yes Michael Sheen will have a role in the new Tron film, he tweeted himself not to long ago that he would play the villain that is “in fact not a person at all.” Micheal Sheen is a great actor and I can’t wait to see who or what kind of villain he ends up playing.

Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

After hearing and seeing what they are going to do with this movie at Comic-Con, I couldn’t be more excited to see this thing brought to life. The disc wars are going to be insane looking!

great news. hes been on my short list of favorite rising actors for quite a while now. everything ive seen and read concerning this movie has been giving me nerdgasms like crazy. adding michael sheen to the cast ensures this movie will deliver. i really hope they go for a trilogy or something.

Hmmm… The trailer sort of made it seem like Jeff Bridges would be the villian. Thought it would have been kind of cool if he wigged out and started killing people Tron-stylee.

I think Flynn has more or less lost control of the computer world, maybe to Sheen's character, and has been trying to get back, thus his going missing. well that's my wild speculation on almost no real factual story info. =)
