New Zombie Film GATEKEEPER Gets an Interesting Cast

It looks like zombie comedies are the new hip thing to do in Hollywood. There are a couple films that are mixing zombie, and humor together. Zombies of Mass Destruction, and Zombieland, being the most recent. We’ve got a new zombie film underdevelopment, and it went out and got itself a great little cast.
The movie is called, Gatekeeper, and it will star Matthew O’Leary (Solstice, Sorority Row), Lea Thompson (Back to the Future), Judge Reinhold (Axel Foley’s sidekick in the Beverly Hills Cop films), Ron Perlman (Hellboy, The Last Winter) and Jana Kramer (Prom Night, Laid to Rest). I can’t wait to see Perlman fighting off zombies!
Isaac Meisenheimer is signed to make his feature directing debut on the film. Meisenheimer also penned the script, in which a simple mistake leaves three friends to defend their town from a zombie outbreak. Producer Stephen Emery says:
“We intend to make a film in the vein of ‘Shaun of the Dead’ for American audiences,”
OK. I am guessing it won’t be as good or funny, but I’m sure it will be a fun zombie film non-the-less. What do you think?

I'm pretty sure no Zombie comedy will ever compare to Shaun of the Dead, but then again I might be overly pessimistic. This might be a great blast of comedy. We'll know when we see it. I really like Ron Perlman, so I'm going to give it a shot once it comes out.
Wait… Shaun of the dead wasn’t for Americans? Too bad it was good and didn’t need to be re-translated, being it was in English.
